Just 0.8 miles is the village of Crossgates, with a garage and shop, primary school, further shops, and the parish church situated near the bridge of the River Ithon. The well known Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells (3.7 Miles) is the nearest town. It offers local amenities which include supermarkets, pharmacy, hospital, post office, hotels, a number of restaurants, primary and secondary schools, leisure centre, golf course and the town lake offering children's play areas, lakeside restaurant and picnic areas. Other nearby towns include Knighton (14.4 Miles) and Rhayader (10 miles). Rhayader is a very popular with tourists, and has many independent stores, leisure centre and and just a couple miles out of the town in the famous Elan Valley Dams, which is a stunning outdoor attraction. TYLER R.HALL Co-opted:­ F.W.MARSTON I HEREFORDSHIRE ORNITHOLOGICAL CLUB RULES I. NAME. The Club shall be called the Herefordshire Ornithological Club. 2. OBJECTS. The objects of the Club shall be (a) to further the study of birds in the field, and (b) to assist in their preservation. 3. MEMBERSHIP. The Club shall consist of a President, a Chainnan, a Secretary, a Field Secretary, a Treasurer, an Editor, a Recorder, and Ten Committee Members and Ordinary Members. The President and the Chair­ man to retire after serving a term of three years. The Secretaries, the Treasurer, the Recorder and the Editor shall be elected annually. The three senior of the ten Ordinary Members of the Committee shall retire annually and they shall not be eligible for re-election for a period of 12 months.
