  • Phillis Meti Wins World Long Drive Championship with Exotics Driver by Tour Edge
Phillis Meti Wins World Long Drive Championship with Exotics Driver by Tour Edge 2nd World Long Drive Championship in Three Years for Exotics Driver Tour Edge Exotics staff player Phillis Meti won the women’s Volvik World Long Drive Championship Wednesday night with a 313 yard drive in the final round of the live for television Golf Channel event. Meti recently switched to a new Exotics driver and is now a 3-time World Champion that has won two World titles in the last three years competing with an Exotics by Tour Edge driver. She is now tied for second-most all time World Championships in the Women’s Division with Stacey Shinnick (2000, ’02, ’05). • 12 Great Ideasfor Golf Tournaments
12 Great Ideas for Golf Tournaments TIP Golf Relay This is a team event where members of the team switch off 1 after each shot, like a relay running event. One person drives the ball, then the next hits the ball onto the green, then the next puts it in, and so forth and so on. The idea is just to switch out in a set rotation after each hit to make the course more challenging. The team that completes the tournament quickest and the team with the lowest score are both given prizes. 12 Great Ideas for Golf Tournaments TIP Golfathon There is a limited field of individual golfers (15-30) who 2 play as many holes as they can in a day. The golfers acquire pledges from sponsors for their rounds and it’s basically like any race where the golfer then tries to get in as many holes as possible to maximize pledges. The money then goes to the designated charity. 12 Great Ideas for Golf Tournaments TIP Porcupine Hole There are three pins on a par three. One is the main pin 3 and two others have different colors. The main pin should be in a harder location on the green and the golfer/teams would then have the option to pay a fee to try for the easier pin placements. The different color pins makes this look interesting too. 12 Great Ideas for Golf Tournaments TIP Lone Ranger The idea for this one is simple, but interesting. Players form 4 into teams, but only one person plays each hole and the goal is for the team as a whole to rack up a good score.

  • 16 Sweet Swings: Mere Mortals Can Hit 400-Yard Drives on These Holes
16 sweet swings: Mere mortals can hit 400-yard drives on these holes These elevated tees might help you uncork a bomb just like the guys in the World Long Drive Championship. By Staff Sept. 2, 2019 If you watch the World Long Drive Championship at the WinStar World Casino & Resort in Oklahoma this week, you'll marvel at the distance these guys and gals hit the ball. They make the PGA Tour's longest hitters look like they're playing small ball. Drives eclipsing 400 yards have won six of the last 11 titles. Golf Channel will televise the event in prime time from 8:30-11 p.m. ET this Tuesday and Wednesday, September 3 and 4. Hitting a 400-yard tee shot sounds superhuman, but it can done by just about anyone in the right conditions. Do you want to go long? We've scoured public courses throughout North America for holes where you can put up some gaudy tee shot distances. All but one of these elevated tees drop at least 100 feet or more to the fairway, according to our research using Google Earth. Swing away and watch the ball soar here: #16 18th hole, The Retreat, Links & Spa at Silvies Valley Ranch - Seneca, Ore.
