Place, date Signature of the purchaser ………………………………………….. …………………………………………… TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE FOR THE UPPER AUSTRIAN TRAFFIC AUTHORITY (OÖVV) SEMESTER CARD Semester cards for students using regional public transport, except for those living and studying in one of the three core zones Linz, Wels or Steyr, are issued exclusively by the OÖVV-Kundencenter, Volksgartenstraße 22, 4020 Linz. Semester cards for students living and studying in the core zone Linz are issued by the Linz AG customer centre and cards for students living and studying in the core zone Steyr are issued by the Steyr municipality customer office. Semester cards are not currently issued for students living and studying in the core zone of Wels. 1. VALIDITY PERIOD AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION The validity period of a semester card shall be 5 months. Semester cards, possibly in conjunction with a core zone surcharge, shall be valid as network travel cards in the respective starting and destination zones. In areas between these zones, semester cards shall be valid as zone tickets which are used to travel between the starting and destination zones for the route given on the semester card (regular route). As well as the route stated on the semester card, any route may be used if the starting point and destination are the same as those written on the semester ticket and the route does not travel through more zones than the number stated on the ticket. A journey stopover shall not be permitted here. Semester cards shall not be transferable. In order to calculate the ticket price of a semester card for students using regional transport, the ticket price of a relevant monthly card shall be taken and multiplied by four. This ticket price shall then be reduced by 40%. A reduction on core zone surcharges shall not be applied. The reduction shall be borne by Upper Austria and the federal government. 2. ELIGIBILITY Students have the right to a semester card within the meaning of §3 of the Austrian Student Support Act (Studienförderungsgesetz) in accordance with the following conditions: o Resident and student in Upper Austria o Less than 26 years old A certificate of registration and the enrolment confirmation shall be required. A passport photo must also be attached to the application form. Original documents must be shown! 3. ORDER A semester card for regional public transport may be ordered by sending or submitting an order form directly to the OÖVV- Kundencenter, Volksgartenstraße 22, 4020 Linz. Order forms may be found at the OÖVVKundencenter or at www.ooevv.at. 4. PAYMENT Payment shall be made in cash or by cash transfer using a transfer form (a copy of the transfer must be submitted). 5. ISSUING Semester cards for regional public transport shall be issued directly in the OÖVV-Kundencenter. The aforementioned documentation must be produced alongside proof of payment for a semester card to be issued. 6. LOSS OF SEMESTER CARD, REGULATIONS CONCERNING ILLNESS, ABSENCE, ETC. If a semester card has been lost, a new semester card shall be issued on presentation of an official notice of loss and payment of the fee prescribed in the tariff regulations. Validity times during which the card has not been used due to illness, absence, etc. may not be compensated! Semester cards may not be returned! 7. REGULATIONS CONCERNING CORE ZONES When travelling to and from a regional zone, passengers using a semester card may only change in the core zones of Linz, Wels and Steyr if the relevant core zone surcharge was paid for this purpose. With this surcharge, semester cards may be used as a network travel ticket in the respective core zones. It is possible to change trains within the core zones without paying a core zone charge. When travelling to and from a regional zone, ticket price calculations shall count the core zone of Linz as two zones and the core zones of Wels and Steyr as one zone. These records are part of the Records of United States Occupation Headquarters, World War II, Record Group (RG) 260. Background The U.S. Allied Commission for Austria (USACA) Section was responsible for civil affairs and military government administration in the American section (U.S. Zone) of occupied Austria, including the U.S. sector of Vienna. USACA Section constituted the U.S. Element of the Allied Commission for Austria. The four-power occupation administration was established by a U.S., British, French, and Soviet agreement signed July 4, 1945. It was organized concurrently with the establishment of Headquarters, United States Forces Austria (HQ USFA) on July 5, 1945, as a component of the U.S. Forces, European Theater (USFET). The single position of USFA Commanding General and U.S. High Commissioner for Austria was held by Gen. Mark Clark from July 5, 1945, to May 16, 1947, and by Lt. Gen. Geoffrey Keyes from May 17, 1947, to September 19, 1950. USACA Section was abolished following transfer of the U.S. occupation government from military to civilian authority.
