Even though the railway line south leads straight to Maribor, it is usually necessary to change at the last station (Spielfeld-Strass) before the border. Exceptions are international trains from Vienna to Ljubljana or Zagreb. A one-way ticket from the airport to Maribor costs around 17€. It is also possible to take a taxi to Maribor. The transfer from Graz Airport will cost you approximately 70€ (Slovene taxi). Arriving to Maribor from Hungary There are two posibilities for traveling to Maribor from Hungary with train. The best way is to departure on 30.1. in Budapest-Keleti and travel directly to Maribor (Ljubljana) via Vienna-Meidling station. Train leaves Budapest at 13:10 and arrives in Maribor at around 19:40. This train then continues to Ljubljana. Ticket for one way juorney is approximately 35,00€ and will take about 6:20 hrs. Arriving to Maribor from Croatia For exact time of departure and timetable you should contact Croatian railways directly. Those who will be taking the train to Maribor should check with the conductors whether they have to change at the junction called 'Zidani most' in Slovenia. Leta 1224 je bil na istem mestu postavljen kamnit most, s katerim je vojvoda Leopold VI. Slavni (1195–1230) povezal štajerska in dolenjska gospostva Babenberžanov. Most, ki je upodobljen na novcih brežiške kovnice, je bil verjetno porušen še pred koncem 15. stoletja. Prvi del prispevka prinaša poskus opredelitve konstrukcijskih značilnosti in položaja obeh mostov čez Savo, ki je osnovan na poročilih o ostankih temeljev, situacijskih načrtih iz časa pred ukrepi za izboljšanje plovbe v prvi polovici 19. stoletja in po njih, vedutah in batigrafskem posnetku struge, izdelanem leta 2009. Posebej pomemben je načrt iz leta 1807, ki poleg domnevnih ostankov sredinskega stebra starega mostu v Savi tik nad sotočjem s Savinjo upodablja cerkev sv. Egidija, zgrajeno na začetku 13. stoletja. Drugi del prinaša topografsko-arheološki razvid srednjeveške stolpaste utrdbe Klauzenštajn (Klausenstein), ki je bila postavljena za zavarovanje Leopoldovega mostu na skalni pečini nad današnjo železniško postajo. Uvod Julija 2009 je bil v okviru pripravljalne faze projektne naloge za oceno arheološkega potenciala območja načrtovanih hidroelektrarn na srednji Savi, ki jo je izvedel Center za preventivno arheologijo ZVKDS s sodelavci, opravljen ogled lokacije rimskega in srednjeveškega mostu čez Savo ter utrdbe Klauzenštajn v Zidanem Mostu (sl.
