From the Training & Placement Cell ABOUT THE INSTITUTE Army Institute of Education (AIE) was established in August 2003 with the aim of providing pre-service teacher education facility to the dependents of Army personnel. The Institute functions under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). Army Institute of Education is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi with an intake of 100 student teachers every year and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for its two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. AIE is NAAC accredited and has obtained Grade ‘A’ by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi consecutively for four years. The Institute is ISO9001:2015 certified. Army Institute of Education shifted to Greater Noida from Delhi Cantt on 23 July 2013 and is presently located in Plot M-1, Pocket P-5, Greater Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar (U.P.) at a distance of 3.5 km from Pari Chowk (Adjacent to AWHO Project). The institute has a lush green campus spread over nearly 2.92 acres of land in a prime location in the city. Army Institute of Education cradles a genuine concern for the pursuit of human enquiry and for the perpetuation of knowledge traditions in an environment conducive to an inspiring teacher education programme. The Institute is endowed with a competent and experienced faculty. Our student teachers are 100 per cent Indian Army wards and dependents. Wisdom, perseverance, discipline, steadfastness and moral character are the virtues of our budding teachers that have enabled them to attain appreciation as well as achieve laurels in academics, co-curricular activities and sports. To unveil the inherent potential of our student teachers, we at AIE are proactive in providing an innovative pedagogy that meets international standards and at the same time is deeply imbedded in Indian values, tradition and culture. During their two-year comprehensive teacher- training programme the teacher trainees have undergone four months Internship Programme (SIP) and one month preliminary engagement and observation in reputed schools of Delhi and NCR. We can boast of our student placements in Army Public Schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas and other reputed public schools in India as well as international placements in Dubai. Vision To prepare intellectually competent, socially concerned, morally upright and technically inclined teachers who act as catalyst to shape the destiny of India. Mission To empower prospective teachers through continuum of knowledge and wisdom by equipping them with latest techniques assisted by technology. FROM THE CHAIRMAN’S DESK FROM THE PEN OF THE PRINCIPAL Army Institute of Education (AIE) has been imparting quality teacher education since the last 16 years. It has emerged as a leading education benefactor, which is evident from the increasing number of applicants’ year on year desirous of graduating with a degree in teacher education from AIE. The Institute under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh University, New Delhi for its two-year B.Ed. programme.
