Teams Birthday – West Sector

Greenford 9th December 2018

A big thank you to the West London Sector Team and especially Teams 8 and Ealing 16 for preparing a wonderful celebration of the Teams birthday in the parish of Our Lady of the Visitation in , West London on the 9th December.

This event was especially important as it was hosted in a parish that has never had a Team. It is tremendous that Fr Liam O’Donovan SCA, new to the parish, not only agreed to host the event but has agreed to be the chaplain for Greenford 1 which will be piloted in the new year. Fr Liam did attend the International Gathering in Fatima but for a priest not yet in Teams he gave a wonderful homily suggesting how the Teams Endeavours are a wonderful tool that married couples can use to prepare a way, a straight path for the Lord. ( Luke 3:1-6)

Further good news was that DOM Alexander Bevan from Ealing concelebrated mass so there were two new priests to Teams in attendance.

The mass and social were extremely well attended with approximately 60 Team members and potential Team couples attending, along with many young children. The children created a lovely rosary and each Hail Mary decade, made of paper flowers, they decorated and on each they wrote an intension to offer up for people less fortunate than themselves. Shoe boxes were decorated with Christmas wrapping and these were taken home to be filled with good things before being delivered to homeless charities.

Mince pies, home baking and hot drinks accompanied serious pushing of the Teams movement to potential new couples with, we hope, considerable success. Both adults and children had a lovely afternoon and the event was concluded with Fr Alexander leading everybody in a decade of the rosary. It is so heartening to attend such an event with new priests, new potential young couples and lots of noise from many young children. Especially in a brand-new parish to Teams

Please remember the expansion project in Greenford in your prayers as piloting starts in the new year.
