Wasauksing First Nation is hiring a Director of Health. The reserve is located on Parry Island – a 19,000 acre island with 126km of lakeshore, making it one of the largest islands in the Great Lakes. As the Director of Health, and ensuring that the scope of services are in keeping with the mission, vision and values of the Wasauksing First Nation, you will be responsible for the management of human and financial resources and health programs of Wasauksing including the following key areas: resource planning, change management, and health programs. Reporting to the Chief Executive Director, you will put in place workplace structures and processes which foster a healthy working environment and positions the Wasauksing Health Department as an employer of choice. To be successful, you must have completed a degree or diploma in a healthrelated field such as health sciences, health promotion or nursing. A Master’s degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Community Health, Health Promotion, Public Health or a related field would be highly desirable. At least 3 – 5 years of management experience working in a Health Centre or a First Nation Health Centre is essential, as is knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation and regulations. You are experienced working with health professionals and paraprofessionals in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, and you have knowledge of strategic and operational planning and program review.
