OUR LADY OF MERCY DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS

During this Catholic Schools Week, the Diocese honored distinguished alumni from each school and recognized these outstanding individuals at a dinner on Monday, January 30 at the Renaissance Hotel. Our Lady of Mercy is pleased to announce our honoree, Mr. Michael Shingleton. Mr. Shingleton is a 1999 graduate of OLOM School who has continuously carried his Catholic values and heart for service with him beyond Mercy, through high school, college, and now his media career. Shingleton recently returned back to his hometown of Baton Rouge to serve as the co-anchor of WBRZ News. According to OLOM School principal, Mr. Chris Porche, “Michael’s charisma, professional excellence and leadership in the community reflect Our Lady of Mercy School’s three- fold mission of prayer, knowledge, and service.” Michael is the son of our own beloved parishioners and friends Pat and Mabyn Shingleton.
