Indistinct Union: Christianity, Integral Philosophy, and Politics Yazidis and the Original Religion of the Near East The horrific bombing in the Kurdish regions around Kirkuk (death toll estimates currently at 400) targeted the Yazidis, a smallish Kurdish (but non-Muslim) sect. The Ys tended to separate themselves from the Peshmerge (the Kurdish military), which likely resulted in their being left vulnerable to this brutal attack. (For interviews with some Yazidis, here via BBC). Who are theologically the Yazidis ? For repeat readers, they will know I support the (somewhat) controversial thesis of Christian scholar Margaret Barker (known as Royal Temple Theology). Barker’s first work is titled The Older Testament. A brilliant way to describe her point of view–namely that the Judaism that comes across in the Hebrew Bible we currently have has been massively (re)edited, more than most scholars will admit, by the Deuteronomic/Rabbinic schools of Judaism. The Older Testament (as opposed to the “Old Testament” of the Deutro. school) included the belief in two g/Gods. The first was the High God (El, Elyon) who had “sons” (angelic beings). Each angel, known as an angel of the nation, was chosen for a specific people. As above so below. i.e. When their was war on earth between two peoples, their angels were fighting in heaven. Hence all the Psalms rousing YHWH (Israel’s Angel/god) to fight. The second G/god then is YHWH for Israel. -
New Ten Varieties and Five Subspecies of Crocus Baalbekensis K. Addam & M

Bou-Hamdan (Iridaceae) endemic to Lebanon added to the Lebanese flora Abstract Volume 4 Issue 6 - 2019 Fifteen new world record Crocus baalbekensis var. decorus, fluctus, flavo-album, 1 2 makniensis, youninensis, rasbaalbekensis, rihaensis, shaathensis, shlifensis, tnaiyetensis, Khodr Addam, Mounir Bou-Hamdan, Jihad subsp. ahlansis, anthopotamus, fakihansis, harbatansis, and rassomensis, joined the Takkoush,3 Kamal Hout4 Lebanese flora and particularly the Iridaceae family. They were found in Baalbek-Hermel 1Head, Integrative and Environmental Research Center, AUL from North Baalbek to Hermel. All of them display C. Baalbekensis but vary in many Beirut, Lebanon 2 taxonomic details. The validation for the existence of these new Varieties and Subspecies Integrative Research and Environmental Center, AUL Beirut, were verified by illustrated morphologic descriptions and observations were based on fresh Lebanon 3 materials. Understory Plant Species Diversity of Asalem's Forests, Northern Iran
Forestry Research and Engineering: International Journal Research Article Open Access Understory plant species diversity of Asalem’s forests, northern Iran Abstract Volume 3 Issue 2 - 2019 The diversity of plants in forests understory is important from different perspectives. Habib Yazdanshenas,1 Mehdi Kalagar,2 Mehdi Thus, present research was carried out to find the chorology, origin and diversity of 3 the understory plants species in Asalem’s forests, northern Iran. Die Abgrenzung von Gattungen oder anderen höheren Taxa erfolgt nach modernen Ansätzen weitestgehend auf der Rekonstruktion der Stammesgeschichte (Stamm- baum-Theorie), mit Hilfe von großen Daten-Matrizen. Wenngleich aufgrund des Fortschritts in der DNS-Sequenzierungstechnik immer mehr Merkmale in der DNS identiiziert werden, ist es mindestens genauso wichtig, die Anzahl der analysierten Planzen zu erhöhen, um genaue Zuordnungen zu erschließen. Die größere Vielfalt mathematischer Methoden zur Erstellung von Stammbäumen führt nicht gleichzeitig zu verbesserten Methoden zur Beurteilung der Stabilität der Zweige innerhalb der Stammbäume. Ein weiterer kontraproduktiver Trend ist die wachsende Tendenz, diverse Datengruppen mit einzelnen Matrizen zu verquicken, die besser einzeln analysiert würden, um festzustellen, ob sie ähnliche Schlussfolgerungen bezüglich der Verwandtschaftsverhältnisse liefern. Ein Stammbaum zur Abgrenzung höherer Taxa muss nicht so robust sein, wie ein Stammbaum, aus dem man Details des Evo- lutionsmusters -

By Wilhelm (Bill) Bischoff / member BC Council of Garden Clubs If you can accept that the island called Santorini in the central Mediterranean, also known as Thira / Tera, is the original Island of Atlantis; if you also can agree that this Island had a terrific volcanic explosion more than 3,000 years ago, than I can share with you an equally fantastic botanical story with you. That today’s Thira is the remnant of an exploded volcano is quite evident when one looks at a map of this region of the Mediterranean. Located as part of the Aegean Islands, just north of Crete, it shows the unmistakable shape of a water filled volcanic caldera with a center-cone island. Scientists have identified volcanic ash taken from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, close to the Lebanese coast, as originating from Thira. The time frame of some 3300 years ago also coincides with the beginning of a rather tumultuous time in this part of the ancient world, the end of the “Bronze Age”. The possible cause of that could well have been a natural disaster, in the very heart of the ancient world as we know it. Now that I have your attention and possibly have whetted your curiosity, let me introduce you to one of the small wonders of this very ancient world, the beautiful Cyclamen, all 22 species of them. -

Furthermore multivariate analysis have been carried out in order to understand the delimitation of the taxa of Psathyrostachys. For this reason, 20 quantitative, qualitative and multi-state morphological characters were scored for the accessions representing 10 populations of the genus. The data were subjected to numerical taxonomic analysis. The results showed that the genus is represented by 3 species one of which is new species and the other one is a new record for Turkey. An account of 3 species and 4 subspecies recognized in the genus is given including the genus description, a key for the species as well as the subspecies, species descriptions, flowering times, habitats, altitudes, type citations, distributions, phytogeography and their conservation status. However, three new taxa, namely P. narmanica sp. nov ., P. fragilis subsp. artvinense subsp. nov. and P. daghestanica subsp erzurumica subsp. nov. are described and illustrated for the first time. Caryopsis narrowly ellipsoid, apex with glossy rounded caplike appendage with central knob from style base, embryo small, hilum linear, slightly shorter than caryopsis.
