A modern yet characterful property which forms part of an exclusive development of detached homes, Station Mews takes its name from and occupies the site of the former railway station which closed in the 1940’s. The plot has a 43’ x 39’ low maintenance rear garden, charming front garden setting the house back from the lane, parking and detached double garage. The beating heart of this home is the fabulous kitchen/diner which has been extremely well appointed in a farmhouse style with granite main work surfaces and an island with timber block work surface. The kitchen has French doors to the garden and leads to the separate utility room also with access to the garden. To the front of the ground floor is the dining room and dual aspect lounge which is spacious boasting beautiful views and a log burning stove. Also, there’s a downstairs cloakroom/WC. Upstairs are four good size bedrooms and family bathroom. The main bedroom offers en- suite facilities and built in wardrobes. The village of Elham is around 12 miles South of the Cathedral City of Canterbury and in the heart of the Kent Downs area of outstanding natural beauty. Village amenities include two public houses, restaurant, village shop, coffee shop, well regarded C of E primary school, children play area, village hall, doctors surgery and bus services to both Canterbury and Folkestone. Canterbury has a fantastic range of shopping, leisure and educational facilities and high-speed rail services to London. The property has oil fired central heating. Our Time Here Our home is situated in the village with attractive countryside views across the Elham Valley, providing us with a peaceful lifestyle. We can walk to the local store if we need to pick anything up and can enjoy a drink or meal out at the selection of pub-restaurants. Both Canterbury and Folkestone are an easy drive away, which gives us links out of the area on the high speed train to St Pancras. There is a school in the village and grammar schools nearby too. There are so many things we love about our home but the most impressive feature has to be that it is built on the original station of the Elham Valley railway, with the platform still visible. Our home has a lovely flow with fantastic social spaces, notably the open-plan kitchen and our large living room – they both open out through patio doors onto our garden. The access we have to the village, Hythe, Folkestone and Canterbury provides us with so many different lifestyles, entertainment and options for socialising. Although we live in the countryside we can wander along the beach easily or be in the bustling city, so we get the best of both worlds. It is lovely to see and hear children and families enjoying the countryside when we are walking around the area, everyone is so friendly and we feel like we have a never-ending garden on our doorstep. We are going to miss everything about living here as the location, our home and the people around us make for such an enjoyable atmosphere.
