13 Simulator Maintenance
13.1 12 Months Warranty
Warranty is intended to cover electronics failures, with the exception of shortcircuits or other failures/damages caused by negligence (water leaks, dust and similar or other external bodies/substances) improper/wilful misuse, accident, alteration, modification and improper transportation/relocation.
Mechanical failures are covered with the exception of failure/damages caused by negligence, improper/wilful misuse, accident, alteration, modification and improper transportation/relocation.
Warranty claims are subject to limitation of 12 months after acceptance. If under normal and proper use the Product is found defective, FSC shall have the duty to verify the claimed defect/malfunction and at FSC discretion replace the identified component or repair its failure. Warranty assistance includes the repair/replacement costs of the identified component (with above mentioned exceptions). Travel, board and lodging costs of on-site assistance are not covered by warranty and are at the expenses of the College.
Assistance on the PCs will be done via remote session. For this and to best assist in all other requests of assistance, a VPN line connected to the simulator (Server 1 or Server 2) is essential to run proper system diagnosis. Remote assistance is free of charge under warranty but is active Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm.
Notwithstanding the foregoing FSC shall have no obligations under warranty if the alleged defect or non- conformance is found to have occurred as result of misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, modification or improper transportation/relocation of the simulator.
13.2 Maintenance Services Contract
Additionally to the warranty, FSC offers a maintenance contract. This contract is oriented to guarantee the long term functionality of the trainer and assist the client during the normal operation and use of the simulator. The details for the different type of maintenance, under the FSC MAINENANCE/ ASSISTANCE CONTRACT document, in relation to the following : - Periodic visit for maintenance, assistance and system check - Telephonic assistance. - Remote access to the simulator for maintenance - On-Site assistance.

13.2.1 SoftWare Updates service
Frequency of Software updates may vary according to Avionic Software and Licence; for further details refer to Appendix B
14 Spare Parts
The simulator has been designed into modular components to facilitate maintenance, repair and replacements; an optional spare part list of different elements that the operator can have on-site, can be defined and agreed upon contract signing.
15 Installation Requirements
15.1 Elements
The simulator is modular and is transportable in case of necessity. The trainer is composed of the following elements:
a) Cockpit is one section
b) The instructor station and observer section are located in a cockpit extension module
c) Visual structure (where present)
d) Computer Racks: simulation and visual computers are installed on two racks with the power controls. A UPS system and/or power transformer can be provided upon request.
Simulator can be shipped disassembled into its smaller components if required by logistic conditions of final location. In this case on-site installation by FSC staff is strongly recommended.

15.4 Shipping & Access
• The simulator is shipped in crates in a standard truck
• Forklifts and personnel for unloading the truck must be provided on-site by the customer
• The ideal access door to the location needs to be:
◦ clear width of 2900 and 2900 height , so the biggest crate with the cockpit can be entered.
This measures are considering that the width is the right direction to enter the boxes using only one forklift.
◦ In case the boxes are opened outside the simulator room and the content transported inside, the door access needs to be 2000 width and 2250 height to get the cockpit inside.
• It is responsibility of the customer to guarantee that the box can be entered, avoiding corners, etc.
• It is responsibility of the customer to have the equipment to unload the truck and insert the crates into the room the day of the delivery. It will also be necessary a forklift for the Simulator's unpacking day, during the installation.
• The specific room to install the simulator, sizes, access, etc. shall be communicated to FSC two months before installation to confirm all shipment details (if installation by FSC staff is requested).
• If installation by FSC staff has been requested/agreed, FSC personnel is responsible for opening the crates and installing the simulator, other works are not contemplated and local qualified personnel shall be managed by the customer.
• If there is any circumstance that shall not permit direct access to the simulator room, it shall be communicated to FSC to manage the installation and consider any additional cost that may occur during installation.
• Ladders, hand tools and any additional installation element shall be made available by the customer to install the simulator. • Packaging is property of the customer.
15.5 Room Requirements
The simulator can be installed in a room of 5000mm (width) x 4000mm (depth) with a height of 2700 mm. (IOS not included in measurements, if IOS is included then a larger footprint is involved)
FSC always recommends to send a drawing of the installation room to confirm measurements and simulator positioning.

FSC MAINTENANCE/ASSISTANCE CONTRACTS
The following document is intended as a guide line to FSC maintenance and Assistance contracts, identified as follow: - A :First Aid - R : Full Risk - Programmed On-site maintenance - Remote Assistance R : Full Risk
This contract covers any type of failures occurred and includes the costs of the spare parts and repair works, but it doesn’t include the replacement of the component. This contract grants that the failure/damage will be addressed and repaired, but no replacement part is provided.
The contract identifies each component of the simulator as an independent part with its individual cost of coverage, calculated with specific rates and values; Customer may select any number of components to be covered by the contract, final cost of the contract will be the sum of respective selected components.
A : First Aid
Typically this contract is corollary to full risk coverage; First Aid grants the supply of a replacement part on loan during repairs of faulty/damaged items. Loan units must be return at completion of repairs.
Full Risk and First Aid are thought to be complementary coverage policies, but Customer may select equipment to be covered by both, neither or either of the two as preferred, cost is calculated according to Customer selection.
Programmed On-site maintenance
Periodic On-site visits of a specialized FSC technicians to operate maintenance procedures and system check, can be arranged at the preferred frequency (i.e. Monthly, bimonthly, quarterly…)
Standard rate for national day visit: 500 € + expenses (VAT excluded) Standard rate for abroad day visit : calculated according to location
Customer may chose to request only “on call” visits according to the need of the moment, at the same rates of a programmed visit.
Remote Assistance
All simulators are configured to allow remote assistance (previous internet connection availability); this coverage provides assistance during software updates as well as system diagnosis. Complementary to Programmed Onsite maintenance the remote assistance allows to run system diagnosis and better identify the issue and optimize the technician visit.
During warranty time, remote Assistance is included for a total amount of 24 hours. Extended remote assistance coverage can be stipulated to the annual amount of € 4.000,00
So called “Electronic Warranty” to cover the replacement of the faulty part with a new one is not among FSC standard policies as it is usually stipulated with insurance companies. Should this kind of coverage be requested it will be discussed separately.

Preface
This QTG has been prepared for an evaluation by the CAA (ENAC) of a FNPT II/MCC device for FSC Limena, Italy.
This document was produced in accordance with EASA CS-FSTD(A), Initial issue, 4 July 2012.
As per EASA CS-FSTD(A), Section AMC7 FSTD(A).300, an engineering report has been provided as a companion to this MQTG document. The engineering report contains a generic validation of the aircraft flight model and a description of the FSC® FSTD, including all the simulation models included therein. The report demonstrates that it is a realistic, robust and reliable training device that provides consistent results throughout the flight envelope of the simulated class of aircraft and complies with the appropriate EASA CS- FSTD(A) requirements for an FNPT II/ MCC device. The use of the engineering report, as per EASA CS-FSTD(A), also enables the initial FSTD qualification test results to become the validation data that will be used as a baseline for subsequent recurrent evaluations with the application of the required tolerances. Therefore, there is no flight test validation data provided within this MQTG document.
