TEACHING EXPERIENCE

2002-2003 As a member of Maynard Ferguson and the “Big Bop Nouveau Band,” presented numerous jazz band clinics and rhythm section workshops for jazz students across America and Europe. 2004 As visiting guest artist at St Francis Xavier University in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada, performed jazz concert with the faculty, gave a drumset master class, taught private lessons, and also gave a rhythm section masterclass 2003 As visiting guest artist at Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand, performed concert with faculty, gave rhythm section master class, and taught private lessons. 2000 As visiting guest artist at The Polytechnic jazz school, Christchurch, New Zealand, performed concert with the faculty, and gave drumset masterclass. 1999 Counselor at the UNT summer drumset workshop. Duties included mentoring students, giving group lessons, and running jam sessions. 1992-1993 Drumset instructor at Burnside High School, Christchurch, New Zealand 1992 Drumset clinic with Dom Famularo, Christchuch, New Zealand. PERFORMANCE/RECORDING EXPERIENCE

2002-2003 On tour with jazz trumpet Legend Maynard Ferguson. Performed worldwide, and at such notable venues as The Blue Note in NYNY, Ryles in Boston, Ronnie Scotts in London, The Jazz Showcase in Chicago, and Jazz Alley in Seattle. Guest artists with the band included Diane Schuur, Lew Solof, Steve Weist and Slide Hampton. Band Members on these tours included Chip McNeil, Ernie Hammes, Xavier Perez, Mike Dubaniewicz, Kim Bock, and Jeff Lashway. 2000-2001 Drummer with the University of North Texas “One O’clock Lab Band.” Performed concerts with Terry Gibbs, Gregg Bissonette, Michael and , Byron Stripling, and Tom “bones” Malone. The One O’clock Lab Band toured in the US, and performed at such notable events as the international brass convention in Manhattan, NY, and the percussive arts society international convention in Dallas, TX. The One O’clock rhythm section also backed up many visiting guest artists, including , Fred Hersch, , John Abercrombie, Dan Higgins, Gary Foster, Mark Gould, and Kenny Wheeler. Performed on their CD recording "LAB 2001.” 1998-2000 Drummer with the University of North Texas “Two O’clock Lab band.” As a member of this ensemble I had the opportunity to thoroughly play and study the big band recordings of Count Basie, and the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra. Performed at jazz festivals and concert halls, and guests with the band included Don Thomas and Jim Snidero. Performed on their CD recordings “A salute to Benny Carter,” and “The translucent Two.” 2002 Drummer for the Lynn Seaton (Count Basie, Jeff Hamilton) Trio, Performed on his CD “Puttin on the Ritz” 2000-2003 Drummer for the Wayne Delano (Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman) quartet. Performed on a weekly basis at a top Dallas, TX jazz club. Performed on his self titled CD. 2002 House drummer for the international trombone festival. Performed with Harry Waters, Jiggs Whigham, Bill Richenbach, Mike Davis, Tom “bones” Malone, and many others. 2000-2001 Drummer for the UNT jazz summer camps. Performed with musicians including Frank Mantooth, Steve Weist, Bobby Shew, Fred Hamilton, and , 1999-2002 Drummer for the UNT jazz Vocal Camps. 2000 Featured guest artist for the Lewisville high school jazz band’s fall concert. 1998 Drummer for the UNT Repertory ensemble. Studied and performed the suites of . 1999 Drummer for the jazz quintet “NJPT” which received the 1999 Downbeat international music award for best college jazz instrumental group. Performed on their self titled album. 1999 Performed with the UNT jazz singers, and played on their CD “yesterdays.” Band members included Brandon Rogers and Norah Jones 1999 Invited to perform at Crested Butte Mountain Music Institute. Performed with small groups and big bands. 1995-1997 Drummer for the Chris Gestrin Trio, which won the 1996 “Europ International Jazz Competition” in Belgium. Performed on his CD “times do not belong to us.” 1997-2002 Countless professional performances with many great Dallas based jazz musicians. including; Shelley Carroll, Rodney Booth, Floyd Darling, John Adams, Brian Piper, Dan Haerle, Dave Zollar, Wayne Delano, Lynn Seaton, and the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, 1995-1997 Performer at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival with many great Canadian musicians including Brad Turner, Chris Gestrin, Bruno Hubert, Mike Allen, Chuck Israels, and Miles Black.
