Kangaroos By Maya Medeiros There are four different types of kangaroos: eastern grey, western grey, red, and antilopine kangaroos. Kangaroos have very strong legs. They can jump really high; sometimes three times their height! Did you know that kangaroos can swim, and they eat grass? A group of kangaroos is called a mob, court, or troop. The largest kangaroo is the red kangaroo. Kangaroos usually live six years in the wild. They are very fast on their two legs. Kangaroos are herbivores. Like cows, kangaroos regurgitate their food and chew it again until it's ready to be fully digested. Most kangaroos spend their day in the shade. Kangaroos are found all over Australia. Male kangaroos are called boomers, bucks or jacks. Female kangaroos are called does, flyers or jills. Young kangaroos are called joeys. Because of the kangaroos’ long feet, they cannot walk normally. Kangaroos are very interesting animals.
