Sun 23rd December | 10.00 – 14.00 Mon 24th December | 09.00 – 12.00 Back in June this year, 12 of us embarked on a two-day cycle ride back from Wembley Stadium to raise funds for our Youth Academy. This was a celebration of 20 years since the ‘Wembley Double’ of 1998, with captain on the day Paul Groves joining the fun. We managed to raise nearly £5,000 for the Academy and I would like to personally thank all the riders for making the commitment over the two days and to those who supported us. On the back of this we have again produced some new GTFC Cycling Jerseys in the style of this season’s 140th Anniversary shirt! These have been made by Italian firm Sportful and are now available online and in store priced at £49.99. 1 In addition to other club shop merchandise and celebratory items, the Football Club has collaborated with Axholme Brewery and Message in a Bottle to produce a “GTFC’S 140th ANNIVERSARY BEER” a delicious Pale Ale to celebrate the formation of the football club in 1878 at the Wellington Arms, in Grimsby. In producing the ale we would like to personally thank the artist Paine Proffitt for the wonderful label design. We are currently selling the Ale in the Club Shop for £3.50 per bottle or £10.00 for three which are gift wrapped ready for Christmas. This season’s match strips from Errea have once again proved very popular especially with the ‘140th Anniversary’ printed in the shirt collars.
