Religious Education News

We wish our families a Blessed Christmas and New Year. There will be no Religion Classes Wednesday, December 25 & January 1. Classes will resume Wednesday, January 8. Give Jesus a gift; go to Mass.

Our Grade 3 students now have a Catechist. We are grateful to those generous parishioners who volunteer their time weekly to teach our children about our loving God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are answering Jesus’ call to “Let the children come to me.” Mt. 19:14 Diocesan Policy is that no adult is to be alone with children. We are still in need of Class room Aids.

Long Beach Catholic Regional School Principal’s Updates

~Third Week of Advent~ O God, see how your people faithfully await the feast of the Lord’s Nativity, enable us, we pray, to attain the joys of so great a salvation, and to celebrate them always with solemn worship and glad rejoicing.

As we enter the third week of Advent, the students will continue to reach out to those in need. It is wonderful to see how our Hat and Mitten tree, located in our lobby is filling up with donated items. The week ahead is filled with so many opportunities for the students to share our faith during this Advent Season. We start off with our weekly Advent Prayer service with all the students, first thing Monday morning. That night we enjoy listening to our Band members and then to the voices of our students in Grades 2-5. It is a wonderful Christmas Concert! On Tuesday, our First Graders will be retelling the story Jesus’ birth with their annual Christmas Pageant! We have two presentations – one during the day for the school and the other in the evening at 7PM at St. Ignatius. This is the perfect opportunity to take some time off from the busyness of the season and focus on the fact that Jesus is the reason for this season. So, we hope to see you there! Our students in Grades 5-8 will share in an Adoration service on Thursday, led by Fr. Brian at St. Ignatius. This too is the perfect opportunity for the students to sit quietly in prayer, reflecting on Advent.

May joy dwell in your hearts during this third week of Advent. Mrs. Kerry Kahn Principal
