Overview This document reports on how the Community Radio Fund was administered in 2019/20. Ofcom has been tasked by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) with administering a Community Radio Fund. DCMS provides a sum of money each year for the Fund and grants are awarded to Ofcom-licensed community radio stations. The report sets out how much money was given out as grants, which stations received grants and for what purposes grants were awarded. 1 Community Radio Fund 2. Community Radio Fund End of Year Report 2019/20 2.1 The Community Radio Fund (‘the Fund’) exists to help community radio licensees and to support core costs incurred in the provision of community radio services. 2.2 Ofcom administers the Fund on behalf of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The money allocated to the Fund is given out in the form of grants, following a formal application process. 2.3 The decisions on grant applications are made by the Community Radio Fund Panel (‘the Panel’), which reports to the Ofcom Policy and Management Board.1 2.4 DCMS allocated £400,000 to the Fund for the financial year 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. In addition, DCMS allocated a further £30,448 to the Fund for the second round. -

Highway removal provides alternative land uses, reconnects citizens and natural landscapes separated by the highway, creates mobility options, and serves as a health equity tool. This Capstone studies DC 295 in Washington, DC and examines the cases of San Francisco’s Embarcadero Freeway, Milwaukee’s Park East Freeway, New York City’s Sheridan Expressway and Seoul, South Korea’s Cheonggyecheon Highway. This study traces the history and the highway removal success using archival sources, news circulars, planning documents, and relevant academic research. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TONI BRAXTON ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN FALL TOUR Detroit (August 8, 2016) – Seven-time GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and actress Toni Braxton announces her North American tour. Kicking off on Saturday, October 8 in Oakland, Braxton will tour more than 20 cities, ending with a show in Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday, November 12. Corey's Top 10 2014 Concerts As 2014 comes to a close I post my top concerts for the year about to end. I Guess I Made It, (borrowing the great Poco tune title) barely. Unlike the past year I did get one nice CD, Belly of the Beast (more on that later) and I finally got around to digitizing my Magical Mystery Tour LP into iTunes. I continue to enjoy my self-created iTunes Radio station, aptly titled, A Good Feelin' To Know. I continue to program as it plays deep cuts that I would only hear on the WNEW_FM 102.7 station that helped me finetune my musical tastes (Thank you Mr. Fornatale.). Interestingly, family visitations hindered any show close to Poco or Richie Furay this year. 2015 perhaps? 1) I can certainly recall some great multi-acts shows but this year included some the best. Going back to the two 1976 Stills-Young Band shows opened by Poco preceding by a late winter '76 show that had Peter Frampton opening for the Faces, John Sebastian preceding “Fab Four” Poco then Loggins & Messina, and then The Outlaws opening followed by Poco and The Doobies Brothers, and finally Hendrix opening for The Monkees in 1967, I just cannot think of shows where the results of the pairing so matched the promise. It starts with Jackson Browne OPENING for John Fogerty at Jones Beach. Jackson mixed faves and deep cuts. My highlight was Runnin' On Empty. Interestingly for those who recall his original steel flavored version, Jackson arranged Take It Easy so that if Glenn Frey jumped out, he'd not miss a beat. -

This is one of the very first art lessons. Squeezing black ready- made from a tube makes a painting look artificial, so instead, you mix the three primary hues: red, yellow, and blue. Because even the darkest shadow or deepest sorrow has a glimmer of color at its heart. But I know there’s another kind of black. I see it when I close my eyes, and become a paint palette. This black is a bottomless ocean of dark. I dip my fin gers in it, smear it across a canvas. Use a paintbrush and flick my fin ger over the bristles, splattering tiny constellations onto the paper. Each small, lonely speck the color of sadness. -

This practice- based research explores the rich history of radio as an artistic medium and the relationship between the artist and technology, emphasising the role of the artist as a mediator between broadcast institutions and a listening public. It considers how radio art might be defined in relation to sound art, music and media art, mapping its shifting parameters in the digital era and prompting a consideration of how radio appears to be moving from a dispersed „live‟ event to one consumed „on demand‟ by a segmented audience across multiple platforms.
