SAU FOOTBALL COLLECTS FOUR WEEKLY HONORS Three Saint Augustine’s University student-athletes and Head Coach Tim Chavous were honored by the CIAA on Tuesday for their performances in the Falcons’ 30-29 football victory over Livingstone College this past weekend. Roy Garris (So./Raleigh, NC) was named defensive back of the week and James Hickman (Jr./Antioch, CA) was selected linebacker of the week. Chasz Cosby (Sr./Charlotte, NC) was chosen defensive lineman of the week and Chavous was voted coach of the week. This is the first conference accolade for Garris, who totaled 11 tackles against the Blue Bears, while Hickman was named linebacker of the week for the third time this season including the second straight week. Hickman, who averages a league-best 10.2 tackles per game, amassed 12 tackles against Livingstone including 0.5 tackles for loss. The CIAA highlighted Cosby for the second time this season and the fourth time CIAA STANDINGS in his career after the Falcons’ lineman tallied a game-high 13 tackles including two Northern Division Div. Conf. Ovr. tackles for loss against the Blue Bears. Chavous won his first CIAA weekly award this Bowie State 1-0 3-0 6-0 season and the second in his Falcons coaching career after guiding the team to its Virginia State 1-0 3-0 5-0 second victory in three games.
