United’s Migration to a Single Passenger Service System (PSS) Dear Traveler, United and Continental are migrating to a single reservation and passenger service system (PSS), with a targeted implementation date of March 3, 2012. Being on one passenger service system will also enable United to provide you better service and more benefits. United is well-prepared for this change, undertaking a robust program of technology testing & hardware upgrades. Employees have undergone rigorous training, and extra staff will be present at airports and call centers during the migration period. Important Customer Information Customers should check United.com for the most recent flight information and status prior to leaving for the airport. On the day of departure, customers should print any relevant travel documentation and bring it to the airport for reference, if necessary. MileagePlus will be the loyalty program for the new United, and the 2012 MileagePlus program, status levels and benefits will begin March 3, 2012. More information is available at www.mileageplusmergerupdates.com and at www.onepassmergerupdates.com. From these websites, members from both programs can access a personalized update on the 2012 program, including changes to account numbers, if applicable. Starting March 3, customers should update their traveler profiles with corporate travel agencies, hotel and car partners to reflect new 8-character MileagePlus numbers (as applicable). At a few airports, United may operate from multiple terminals. To ensure customers arrive in the correct location, please check Flight Status at United.com prior to leaving for the airport. Some major airports where United operates from multiple terminals include: Boston (BOS), London/Heathrow (LHR), New York/LaGuardia (LGA), and Washington/National (DCA). For more information, please visit www.unitedhub.com. For Customers Traveling on March 3 On the day of system migration, additional staff will be available to assist you at the airport, however please consider arriving early. Below are some tips to ensure a smooth travel experience during this period: Online check-in will be available until shortly after midnight U.S. Central Time on March 3. At that point, there will be a scheduled system outage lasting several hours. Unfortunately you will not be able to use web check-in until the systems come back on-line sometime early morning. o If you are unable to print your boarding pass in advance, or if you have bags to check, plan to arrive at the airport earlier than usual. Airport check-in is open up to three hours before your flight departs. Effective March 3 and beyond, all flights that were scheduled to operate as Continental Airlines (CO) will be operating as United Airlines (UA). Be sure to check united.com or monitors at the airport for correct terminal and gate information.
