Message from the Manager,

Nikki Sparks Welcome to your Fair summer blast with the Fair Theme “You Don’t see THAT Everyday,” Fair dates are Wednesday through Saturday, July 24-27. On behalf of the Curry County Fair Board, Staff, Superintendents and volunteers, I want to welcome you to the Curry County Fair.

We are continuing to work on improving the Fair and the Event Center Facilities. We invite you to come and enjoy your county fair. Enter and exhibit, enjoy some fair food, ride one of the many carnival rides, attend one of the major entertainment attractions or just come and enjoy the company of friends.

The Fair/Event Center receives no financial support from Curry County and is dependent on funds generated from the annual County Fair, rental of facilities throughout the year and an allotment of lottery funds from the State of Oregon. Additional funding is received as donations from vital local scholarships and from the Curry Fair Friends. The latter, CFF, is a nonprofit, all volunteer catering group which provides meals, from lunches to major banquets for over 200 people in Docia Sweet Hall, the largest banquet facility in Curry County. Dona- tions from CFF exceed over $25,000 a year and are used for repair and maintenance and other improvement projects for the grounds. Without their support the Event Center could not remain open for year-round events at the Event Center on the beach.

MAJOR ENTERTAINMENT & EXHIBITS: XPOGO: Pogo Stick Stunts Karen Quest – Cowgirl tricks ARENA EVENTS DAILY Bull Riding – “LUCKY 7 BULLS & BARRELS” sponsored by Lucky 7 Casino Motor Sports –Friday: “ Head to Head Tuff Trucks” Saturday: “Tuff Trucks”, ”Tuff Puff” & “Freestyle” <<<<<<<<>>>>>>>

Curry County Fair Exhibitors Handbook 2019 49 BATTLE OF THE BANDS

Earlier signups get the pick of the lineup position/performance time

Contact the Fair office as soon as possible to get the band’s contact information on the list for the contest, and get a better chance for preferred performance time. Music to be performed may be chosen and reported later.

By June 15, as preliminary audition screening, a sample of the band’s performance will be needed and may be submitted as a video on either DVD or You Tube or by another agreed upon method.

The final selection of music may differ from what is on the initial audition recording, so long as the band can vouch for, in advance, the suitability for a family audience of all ages, get prior approval, and get the titles listed with the Fair office and the stage manager.

A group is “aged” by the age of its oldest member at the time of performance. Youth/Student Band category is for anyone who was a student at a High School or Grade School during the Spring of the current Fair. For the contest to happen, at least three bands must be signed up for a category by June 30
