This study abroad program is designed for students who are studying French language or who are already proficient in French. Students can either apply to take regular UCO courses with French students or take courses in French language and culture through the Centre International d’Etudes Francaises (CIDEF). ACADEMICS ESTIMATED COSTS The CIDEF offers coursework from Level A1 (Beginner) to Level C1 (Advanced). Soon after arrival, new students will take a placement test to place them in the correct level and the student’s schedule will be finalized. Beginner students will take a set of language courses. ACCOMMODATIONS When applying for a CIDEF course, students may choose from several types of accommodation, whether in a student residence or with a local family in a homestay. Homestays include a room in a private home, and summer students can choose from options for the meals included at the homestay or on campus. Students in a homestay during the fall and spring term can choose to have kitchen access or kitchen access plus several meals prepared at the homestay.
