Sullivan, Assistant Principal International Students, It would be an honor to welcome you to Kennebunk High School. We believe that we offer an exceptional educational experience with courses ranging from Advanced Placement to International Baccalaureate to STEM. Our students are very engaged in the learning process and are encouraged to look at information from different perspectives. They must do more than just memorize content; they have to apply the content as they work on labs in science, have Socratic Seminars in literature classes, participate in roundtable discussions on history and current events, and use foreign languages to do research and make presentations. Kennebunk High School also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Forty percent of our students play on sports teams, including, but not limited to: basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, skiing, tennis and wrestling. Our school offers more than thirty clubs, which meet after school and in the evenings. Student Council, for example, offers a forum for student discussions, and the Future Business Leaders of America Club runs the school store. From Improv to Debate to the Radio Club, many students pursue an area of interest outside of the academic curriculum. Kennebunk High School serves the towns of Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and Arundel. These towns, which offer social and economic diversity, also serve as bedroom communities for industries and commercial establishments in surrounding towns and cities. Our unique location affords recreational activities along the coastline of Maine, as well as easy access to the Boston area.

The three Healthy Maine Partnerships in York County are Choose to be Healthy (CTBH), Coastal Healthy Communities Coalition (CHCC) and Partners for Healthier Communities (PHC). CTBH, CHCC and PHC are community based health promotion coalitions that work together with local organizations to advocate for healthy lifestyles surrounding: tobacco cessation, nutrition, physical activity, substance abuse prevention, and the management and prevention of chronic diseases such as cancers, diabetes, and heart disease. Healthy Maine Partnerships are funded by the tobacco settlement money from the Fund for a Healthy Maine through the partnership for a Tobacco free Maine, Department of Health and Human Services. It is our hope that this resource guide will be useful to you and encourage physical activity among all members of your family.
