1968 2011 Baby Grandmothers founded at autumn 1967 in connection when the psychedelic Club Filips opening at Regeringsgatan in Stockholm. Baby Grandmothers become one of the house bands together with Hansson & Karlsson and Mecki Mark Men. B G-m been active in the years 1967and 1968 and played mostly in clubs in Stockholm area like, Club Filips, Golden Circle, Old Bridge, Shazam, etc... Kenny Håkansson (guitar) and Pelle Ekman (drums) played in the r & b band T-Boones with Göran Malmberg (bass) and when they need a stand-in to a gig at Golden Circle, arranged Bill Öhrström to replace Göran Malmberg with Bella Linnarsson (bass). Göran then wants to continue building guitars and speaker cabinet that's offers Bella to be original member in the band. The name Baby Grandmothers comes by an idea from Bill Öhrström during some performance at Club Filips and been introduced by an long evening performance called "bass happening". Early in 1968 B G-m doing a small tour in Finland, included broadcast at Finnish Radio and recording of the only produced record. The single "Being is More Then Life", produced by M.A. Numminen at his record company Eteenpäin (Forward) and with "Somebody Keeps Calling My Name" at backside. The music been experimental pop/rock/blues with frequent riff between improvisations that makes every acts endless until energy and inspirations ebbs away. Kenny perform brilliant psychedelically dissipations with fully communication control to the heavy stabile comp from Bella and Pelle, which express the audience in an ecstasy swinging. The music had fully spirit of community. Later in 1968 there been another tour in Finland together with the Finnish singer Anki Lindqvist with reinforcement of Mecki Bodemark from Mecki Mark Men. The tour named "AIKA KONE" (time machine) that cover the hole Finland. There been a great success and frequent escorts from police needed to reach the hotels. During the same year B G-m and Mecki Mark Men also joint Jimi Hendrix in a short tour in Sweden. Starts in Gothenburg and further Sandviken and Stockholm. The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical HAIR been produced by Sandrews at Scala theatre in Stockholm in autumn 1968 where B G-m (guitar, bass, drums) been collectd together with Mecki Bodemark (Hammond) and Hawkey Franzen (guitar). Bengt-Arne Wallin was musician leader, American Julia Arenal choreography and Pierre N. Franckel producer. The musical continue until spring 1969, but during the Christmas break a short concert tour in Prague been performed with Kenny, Bella, Pelle and Mecki together with Anki Lindqvist and M.A. Numminen. When HAIR was over we joined Mecki and moved forward with a new reorganization of Mecki Mark Men with recording the LP "Running in the Summernight" that's results in a three months tour in USA, where an additional record "Marathon" been made. Some time after the return from US take the power trio a next step and start up the first version of Kebnekajse and now together with Roffe Scherrer (guitar) and release of "Resa mot Okänt Mål" (A trip without destination). Shortly after the recording and some touring leaved Bella the group and the second version of Kebnekajse been set up. In the beginning of 2008 get Kenny a request to perform a short performance with Baby Grandmothers as a surprise for Clas Fellbom when he after 30 years ended his work as art leader at Folkoperan in Stockholm. It was just a few minutes performance, but gets a taste of more and then in November 2008 comes the bands comeback at the Viking Line cruise "SVENSKA HÖJDARE" (Swedish Star Act) with July Morning as organizer. The performance been overwhelming succeeded and great response be new and old audience. During the same time had Reine Fiske and Stefan Kéry at Subliminal Sounds records research for materials to release of a new CD and LP (for collectors). Release party and a concert during the publication been hold at March 9, 2009. Continuation of some very successful performance and now (2011) the group is back with its work on a new recording.
