    LA GINNASTICA ARTISTICA Ilenia Federica La ginnastica artistica è una disciplina della ginnastica e uno sport olimpico. L'atleta deve essere dotato di forza, velocità ed elevata mobilità articolare. Alcuni elementi, quelli principali, come la verticale, possono essere appresi anche in età adulta. STORIA DELLA GINNASTICA ARTISTICA La ginnastica artistica è uno sport dalle origini molto antiche.Le culture più importanti che la praticarono sono quella Cinese, quella Egizia e quella Micenea. Per quanto riguarda i Greci, la ginnastica fu prima praticata dai Dori. Però gli antichi avevano un altro concetto di ginnastica artistica: essi non la intendevano praticata con gli attrezzi, bensì basata sugli esercizi che corrispondono all'attuale atletica leggera, alla lotta, al pugilato. I Romani non accettavano la ginnastica perché la ritenevano propria degli schiavi o degli stranieri. Solo dopo il Mille la cultura fisica riacquistò importanza. Nel XIX secolo, F.L. Jhan inaugurò a Berlino la prima palestra pubblica all'aperto. Egli consigliò vari esercizi sulla corsa e sul salto, poi introdusse l'uso degli attrezzi, tra cui quattro femminili e sei maschili. In comune ne hanno due: il corpo libero e il volteggio. - CORPO LIBERO Il corpo libero (floor, FX) maschile prevede una serie di esercizi senza accompagnamento musicale o coreografia, a differenza di quello femminile. Si svolge su una pedana quadrata ampia 12x12 metri, con un metro di sicurezza intorno. - VOLTEGGIO Nel volteggio (valut, VT) il ginnasta corre lungo il tumbling che è lungo 25 metri, salta su una pedana posizionata davanti alla tavola e dopo aver appoggiato le mani sull'attrezzo esegue il volteggio vero e proprio.

This event, together with the International Gymnix, is the largest gathering of gymnasts of all ages and levels, celebrating a shared passion for the sport and aiming to surpass themselves in a friendly and festive atmosphere.     The 2013 European Championships are just around the corner! By Sara B. Dorrien – The Couch Gymnast In the absence of a team competition, the all-around competition is the most anticipated this year. It is very likely to be a show-down between Romania’s Larisa Iordache and Russia’s Aliya Mustafina, and for both 2012 Olympians, the title of European Champion would carry redemptive weight. For Mustafina, the past three European Championships have told very different stories: 2010 was her break-out year in senior level competition, and at the European Championship she very confidently led the her team to a gold medal finish and picked up silvers on uneven bars and beam in the event finals, establishing herself as “one to watch.” Fast forward one year to the 2011 European Championships (after sweeping the 2010 World Championships, including first place in the All-Around competition) where she was fully expected to take gold. However, a bad landing on an Amanar vault had her out of the competition after the first rotation and out of commission for months with an ACL tear. Fast forward one year to the 2012 European Championships, just a few months shy of the Olympic Games, and still-not-quite-up-to-speed Mustafina failed to qualify for any event finals, putting her full recovery from injury and Olympic competitiveness into question. All things considered, adding a European title (whether in the All Around or an Event Final) to her World and Olympic ones would be a meaningful indeed; not only because it seems rather obvious but also because the competition itself has been a sad one for her the last couple of years.

The coach was carry- ing a club of pensioners on an excursion when it collided with the lorry near the village of Puisseguin among the vine- yards of the St Emilion region, east of Bordeaux. Many of the victims were thought to have died in the fire, according to emergency workers and local authorities. Images shown on French television showed the coach had been completely burned, leaving only a charred shell. “The driver of the lorry appears to have lost control of his vehicle, leaving him stranded in the middle of the road. The bus driver was unable to avoid the accident,” Puisseguin mayor Xavier Sublett told reporters. Locals saw a plume of smoke from several kilometers away. Many said that part of the road was known to be particularly dangerous. The lorry driver was killed. The rest of the victims were passengers on the coach, officials said. “I am astonished at the force of the crash. It will take a lot of time to recover all the bodies,” said a fireman at the scene.
