Notes Florida's first television station. Per Miami Herald article 3/21/1999 by Terry Jackson, CP was first issued to Bob Venn, but he lacked finances to put station on the air. Wolfson had resources to become Venn's partner, and quickly bought out his interest in channel 4.

In 1994 New World Television signed a blanket affiliation agreement with FOX to switch most of its stations, including WTVT, to the fledgling network. In 1996 FOX acquired New World, cementing the deal.
