A checklist of these species with ecological, phenological and distribution data is presented. Kokkukvõte: Perekonna Tricholoma (Agaricales, Agaricomycetes) liigid Eestis Esitatakse kriitiline nimestik koos ökoloogiliste, fenoloogiliste ja levikuliste andmetega heiniku perekonna (Tricholoma) 42 liigi (Agaricales, Agaricomycetes) kohta Eestis. INTRODUCTION The present checklist contains 42 Tricholoma This checklist also provides data on the ecol- species recorded in Estonia. All the species in- ogy, phenology and occurrence of the species cluded (except T. gausapatum) correspond to the in Estonia (see also Kalamees, 1980a, 1980b, species conceptions established by Christensen 1982, 2000, 2001b, Kalamees & Liiv, 2005, and Heilmann-Clausen (2008) and have been 2008). The following data are presented on each proved by relevant exsiccates in the mycothecas taxon: (1) the Latin name with a reference to the TAAM of the Institute of Agricultural and Envi- initial source; (2) most important synonyms; (3) ronmental Sciences of the Estonian University reference to most important and representative of Life Sciences or TU of the Natural History pictures (iconography) in the mycological litera- Museum of the Tartu University. In this paper ture used in identifying Estonian species; (4) T. gausapatum is understand in accordance with data on the ecology, phenology and distribution; Huijsman, 1968 and Bon, 1991. The following (5) references to mycothecas specimens available taxa recorded in earlier mycological literature in Estonia, using the internationally accepted of Estonia (cf Kalamees, U.,1962; Urbonas et abbreviations of the fungal collections TAAM or al, 1986; Kalamees, 1978, 2000; Järva & Par- TU; (6) comments. masto, 1980; Järva, Parmasto & Vaasma, 1998), The checklist principally follows the Index Tricholoma acerbum (Bull.: Fr.) Vent. 1872, T. Fungorum (1 June 2010). In the characteriza- robustum (Alb. & Schwein.: Fr.) Ricken 1915, T. tion of fungal habitats, the publication of Paal bufonium (Pers.: Fr.) Gillet 1874, T. sejunctum (1997) is used. The frequency of the occurrence (Sowerby: Fr.) Quél. 1872, T. ustale (Fr.: Fr.) P. of taxa is estimated according to a 6-point scale: Kumm. 1871, T. caligatum (Viv.) Ricken 1915, very rare – 1–2 localities, rare – 3–5 localities, T. coryphaeum (Fr.) Gillet 1874, T. elytroides rather rare – 6–10 localities, rather frequent – (Scop.) Fr. 1887 (=Porpoloma elytroides (Scop.) 11–20 localities, frequent – 21–50 localities, very Singer 1973), T. guttatum (Schaeff.) Sacc. 1887, frequent – 51 and more localities. T. inodermeum (Fr.) Gillet 1874, T. orirubens Quél. 1873, T. pardinum Quél. 1873, T. sciodes Abbreviations of iconography are following: (Pers.) C. Burdsall, Jr. Synopsis Fungorum 8 Fungiflora - Oslo - Norway 6 Authors address: Center for Forest Mycology Research Forest Products Laboratory United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service One Gifford Pinchot Dr. Madison, WI 53705 USA ABSTRACT Once a taxonomic refugium for nearly any white-spored agaric with an annulus and attached gills, the concept of the genus Armillaria has been clarified with the neotypification of Armillaria mellea (Vahl:Fr.) Kummer and its acceptance as type species of Armillaria (Fr.:Fr.) Staude. Due to recognition of different type species over the years and an extremely variable generic concept, at least 274 species and varieties have been placed in Armillaria (or in Armillariella Karst., its obligate synonym). Only about forty species belong in the genus Armillaria sensu stricto, while the rest can be placed in forty-three other modem genera. This study is based on original descriptions in the literature, as well as studies of type specimens and generic and species concepts by other authors. This publication consists of an alphabetical listing of all epithets used in Armillaria or Armillariella, with their basionyms, currently accepted names, and other obligate and facultative synonyms.

Accepted 11 November, 2011 A new genus of Agaricales, Leucocalocybe was erected for a species Tricholoma mongolicum in this study. Leucocalocybe was distinguished from the other genera by a unique combination of macro- and micro-morphological characters, including a tricholomatoid habit, thick and short stem, minutely spiny spores and white spore print. The assignment of the new genus was supported by phylogenetic analyses based on the LSU sequences. The results of molecular analyses demonstrated that the species was clustered in tricholomatoid clade, which formed a distinct lineage. Key words: Agaricales, taxonomy, Tricholoma, tricholomatoid clade. INTRODUCTION The genus Tricholoma (Fr.) Staude is typified by having were re-described. Based on morphological and mole- distinctly emarginate-sinuate lamellae, white or very pale cular analyses, T. mongolicum appears to be aberrant cream spore print, producing smooth thin-walled within Tricholoma and un-subsumable into any of the basidiospores, lacking clamp connections, cheilocystidia extant genera. Accordingly, we proposed to erect a new and pleurocystidia (Singer, 1986). Most species of this genus, Leucocalocybe, to circumscribe the unique genus form obligate ectomycorrhizal associations with combination of features characterizing this fungus and a forest trees, only a few species in the subgenus necessary new combination.

  • The Macrofungi Checklist of Liguria (Italy): the Current Status of Surveys
Posted November 2008. Summary published in MYCOTAXON 105: 167–170. 2008. The macrofungi checklist of Liguria (Italy): the current status of surveys MIRCA ZOTTI1*, ALFREDO VIZZINI 2, MIDO TRAVERSO3, FABRIZIO BOCCARDO4, MARIO PAVARINO1 & MAURO GIORGIO MARIOTTI1 *[email protected] 1DIP.TE.RIS - Università di Genova - Polo Botanico “Hanbury”, Corso Dogali 1/M, I16136 Genova, Italy 2 MUT- Università di Torino, Dipartimento di Biologia Vegetale, Viale Mattioli 25, I10125 Torino, Italy 3Via San Marino 111/16, I16127 Genova, Italy 4Via F. Bettini 14/11, I16162 Genova, Italy Abstract— The paper is aimed at integrating and updating the first edition of the checklist of Ligurian macrofungi. Data are related to mycological researches carried out mainly in some holm-oak woods through last three years. The new taxa collected amount to 172: 15 of them belonging to Ascomycota and 157 to Basidiomycota. It should be highlighted that 12 taxa have been recorded for the first time in Italy and many species are considered rare or infrequent. Each taxa reported consists of the following items: Latin name, author, habitat, height, and the WGS-84 Global Position System (GPS) coordinates. This work, together with the original Ligurian checklist, represents a contribution to the national checklist. Key words—mycological flora, new reports Introduction Liguria represents a very interesting region from a mycological point of view: macrofungi, directly and not directly correlated to vegetation, are frequent, abundant and quite well distributed among the species. This topic is faced and discussed in Zotti & Orsino (2001). Observations prove an high level of fungal biodiversity (sometimes called “mycodiversity”) since Liguria, though covering only about 2% of the Italian territory, shows more than 36 % of all the species recorded in Italy.

  • Antibacterial Activities of Clitocybe Nuda Extract on Foodborne Pathogens
Antibacterial activities of Clitocybe nuda extract on foodborne pathogens by Liang Bo A thesis submitted to the Graduate Faculty of Auburn University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Master of Science Auburn, Alabama August 4, 2012 Keywords: Clitocybe nuda, antibacterial activity, foodborne pathogen Copyright 2012 by Liang Bo Approved by Tung-Shi Huang, Chair, Associate Professor of Poultry Science Jean Weese, Professor of Poultry Science Thomas McCaskey, Professor of Animal Science Abstract The addition of antimicrobial agents to foods is an important approach for controlling foodborne pathogens to improve food safety. Currently, most antimicrobial agents in foods are synthetic compounds. Researchers are looking for natural antimicrobial agents to substitute for synthetic compounds in foods to control microbial growth in foods. Clitocybe nuda is an edible macrofungus which produces a large number of biologically active compounds with antibacterial activities. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antibacterial activities of Clitocybe nuda extract on foodborne pathogens and its stability at different temperatures and pHs, and to estimate the molecular weights of some of the antibacterial components of the fungus. The antimicrobial activity was evaluated by testing the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) on four foodborne pathogens: Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella typhimurium, E. coli O157:H7, and Staphylococcus aureus. The stability of the extract was tested at pH 4-10, and temperatures of 4, 72, 100, and 121°C. The growth of pathogens was significantly inhibited by the Clitocybe nuda extract. The MIC50 for Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella typhimurium, E. coli O157:H7 and Staphylococcus aureus are 79.20, 84.51, 105.86, and 143.60 mg/mL, respectively.

Three forest sites Kashmir viz., Dachigam, Shalimar and Shankaracharia hills were surveyed periodically for Himalayas, Species Richness, Zabarvan three consecutive years (2011-2013) for ectomycorrhiza. A total number of 67 forest species in 23 genera belonging to 21 families in 07 orders were recorded. The study revealed that mycorrhizal fungal species richness was more in autumn Article Info season (45 species) and less in summer (11 species). The Simpson diversity index Accepted: of Dachigam, Shalimar and Shankaracharia hills was found to be 0.981, 0.910, 18 April 2019 0.939 respectively, while Shannon’s diversity index of these sites was 4.03, 2.36, Available Online: 10 May 2019 2.903, respectively.
