K. Sauders (2001). Theo đó, chi Kadsura Juss. có 16 loài, được xếp trong 2 phân chi, phân bố chủ yếu ở vùng Đông Á và Đông Nam Á. Ở Việt Nam, các tác giả nghiên cứu phân loại chi Kadsura Juss. là F. Gagnepain (1907, 1938), Phạm Hoàng Hộ (1991, 1999). Tuy nhiên, các nghiên cứu trên chưa mang tính hệ thống, hiện nay một taxon trong chi này đã có sự thay đổi. Hầu hết các loài trong chi Kadsura Juss. ở Việt Nam có giá trị làm thuốc, một số loài có tên trong Sách Đỏ và Danh lục Đỏ Việt Nam (2007), nhiều loài có vùng phân bố hẹp có nguy cơ bị đe dọa tuyệt chủng. Việc nghiên cứu phân loại chi Kadsura Juss. một cách có hệ thống ở Việt Nam là thực sự cần thiết. Do đó, chúng tôi tiến hành nghiên cứu phân loại chi Na rừng ( Kadsura Juss.) thuộc họ Ngũ vị (Schisandraceae Blume) ở Việt Nam. I. PHƯƠNG PHÁP NGHIÊN CỨU Phương pháp nghiên cứu được chúng tôi s ử dụng là phương pháp so sánh hình thái. -

Edible Flowers Alyssum Mixed Colors Lobularia maritima. You may know that alyssum has a light honey-like fragrance and that it blooms non-stop all summer with little care but have you ever tasted Alyssum? Well it doesn't taste strong but it sure looks pretty decorating summer cakes, fruit salad and a bowl of ice cream! The young leaves, stems and flowers are all edible plus they attract all kinds of beneficial insects to the garden. How can you go wrong? Grows to 6" tall and spreads up to a foot. Borage Borago officinalis The bright blue, star-shaped flowers (which bloom most of the summer) make borage one of the prettiest herb plants. The leaves are large and leathery and covered in soft spikes. The flavor of the leaves and flowers resembles that of cucumber. The plant will grow to a height of about 18 inches, and spread about 12 inches. Beloved by bumble bees. -

Southern Plant Lists Southern Garden History Society A Joint Project With The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation September 2000 1 INTRODUCTION Plants are the major component of any garden, and it is paramount to understanding the history of gardens and gardening to know the history of plants. For those interested in the garden history of the American south, the provenance of plants in our gardens is a continuing challenge. A number of years ago the Southern Garden History Society set out to create a ‘southern plant list’ featuring the dates of introduction of plants into horticulture in the South. This proved to be a daunting task, as the date of introduction of a plant into gardens along the eastern seaboard of the Middle Atlantic States was different than the date of introduction along the Gulf Coast, or the Southern Highlands. To complicate maters, a plant native to the Mississippi River valley might be brought in to a New Orleans gardens many years before it found its way into a Virginia garden. A more logical project seemed to be to assemble a broad array plant lists, with lists from each geographic region and across the spectrum of time. The project’s purpose is to bring together in one place a base of information, a data base, if you will, that will allow those interested in old gardens to determine the plants available and popular in the different regions at certain times. This manual is the fruition of a joint undertaking between the Southern Garden History Society and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. In choosing lists to be included, I have been rather ruthless in expecting that the lists be specific to a place and a time. -

THE TYPE LOCALITIES OF PLANTS FIRST DESCRIBED FROM NEW MEXICO. tty Paul C. Standley. INTRODUCTION. In the endeavor to settle the application of old names it is often of the greatest advantage to know exactly where the specimens from which a certain species was described were collected. This is dem- onstrated by the difficulty experienced by botanists in determining the proper reference of names based upon plants cultivated in botan- * ical gardens. With specimens from the type locality of a species one can often supplement a scanty type much better than with specimens that are apparently the same, but collected in other localities. When a description is brief and imperfect and no type has been designated, this is often the only method of interpreting the author's meaning. Unfortunately it is only lately that botanists have come to regard the designation of types and type localities as important. The earlier botanical writers did not consider the practice necessary, underesti- mating the possible development of systematic botany. They were accustomed to assign their new species to large and often indefinite areas, such as "the eastern coast of North America," "Canada," ''west of the Mississippi River," and areas of similar extent. As a result, when it has been found afterwards that there existed a group of closely related species not known to the earlier writer, any of which would fill the original description, it. has often been extremely diffi- cult to tell which member of the group was the basis of the proposed name. Even when the early botanists cite a definite locality or region as the source of their specimens it can not always be accepted implicitly as the type locality, because of later changes in the application of geographical names. -

Ce travail de thèse avait donc pour objectif de répondre à de telles questions pour deux genres : Phytoseiulus et Neoseiulella, en utilisant pour la première fois des approches phylogénétiques moléculaires et morphologiques. Ces études phylogénétiques ont été également associées à des études biogéographiques. Les résultats obtenus par ces deux approches sont congruents et semblent montrer que ces deux genres ne sont pas monophylétiques : le genre Phytoseiulus semble au mieux paraphylétique, tandis que le genre Neoseiulella serait polyphylétique.
