Belinsky was in good company with his assessment. Such sentiments are rife in the critical essays and articles of the first third of the nineteenth century. A decade earlier, Aleksandr Bestuzhev had declared that, “we have a criticism but no literature” (Leighton, Romantic Criticism 67). Several years before that, Pyotr Vyazemsky voiced a similar opinion in his article on Pushkin’s Captive of the Caucasus : “A Russian language exists, but a literature, the worthy expression of a mighty and virile people, does not yet exist!” (Leighton, Romantic Criticism 48). These histrionic claims are evidence of Russian intellectuals’ growing apprehension that there was nothing Russian about the literature produced in Russia. There was a prevailing belief that -

To my father, Anatolii Sviridenok, a devoted Academician for 50 years ABSTRACT This interdisciplinary dissertation explores the World of Art (Mir Iskusstva, 1899- 1904), The Golden Fleece (Zolotoe runo, 1906-1909) and Apollo (Apollon, 1909- 1917), three art periodicals that became symbols of the print revival and Europeanization in late Imperial Russia. Preoccupied with high quality art reproduction and graphic design, these journals were conceived and executed as art objects and examples of fine book craftsmanship, concerned with the physical form and appearance of the periodical as such. Their publication advanced Russian book art and stimulated the development of graphic design, giving it a status comparable to that of painting or sculpture. -

Larionov Institute of physical and technical problems of the North, Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPTPN SB RAS) 3Bratsk state University (FGBOU VPO Brest state University) Abstract Efficiency of wind power stations (WPS) for power supply of settlements of the eastern Arctic area of Russia has been assessed in the article on the example of the Allaikhovsky district of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia. Authors consider using of wind power as an additive energy source, as the power supply of the district in the near future will remain autonomous, and the diesel power will be basic and a guaranteed source of energy. Therefore, exploitation of wind power could partly reduce the consumption of fossil fuels. The work takes into account the changes of indicators of wind potential during one year, fuel prices, and annual electricity consumption schedule with the aim of financial and different types of wind turbines applying economic assessment for an Arctic settlement isolated from energetic systems. The Russians, having come to the river at about the 17th century, for a long time made contact with Yukagirs, Chukchi and Evens. Allaikhovskiy and Nizhnekolymskiy regions are in the North-East of Yakutia, in Eastern Siberia is. As is known, the village of Russkoye Ustye, located at the confluence of the Arctic Ocean and the Indigirka river, is a place of pilgrimage for researchers of * PhD, Associate Professor NEFU traditional Russian spiritual culture. K. Tolstoy, was a Russian poet, novelist and playwright, considered to be the most important nineteenth-century Russian historical dramatist. He also gained fame for his satirical works, published under his own name (History of the Russian State from Gostomysl to Timashev, The Dream of Councillor Popov) and under the collaborational pen name of Kozma Prutkov. <b>Early life</b> A. K. Tolstoy was born in Saint Petersburg to the famed family of Tolstoy. His father, Count Konstantin Petrovich Tolstoy (1780–1870), a son of the army general, was a Russian state assignation bank councilor. His mother, Anna Alekseyevna Perovskaya (1796–1857), was an illegitimate daughter of Count Aleksey Kirillovich Razumovsky (1784–1822), an heir of the legendary Ukrainian hetman Aleksey Razumovsky. A. K. Tolstoy's uncle (on his father's side) was Fyodor Tolstoy (1783–1873). His uncle on his mother's side was Aleksey Perovsky (1787–1836), an author known under the pen name of Antony Pogorelsky. Aleksey Konstantinovich was a second cousin of Leo Tolstoy; Count Pyotr Andreyevich Tolstoy was their common great-grandfather. Konstantin Tolstoy and Anna Perovskaya's marriage was short-lived; they divorced in October 1817. With her six weeks old son Anna moved first to her own Blistava estate in Chernigov Governorate, then to Krasny Rog, belonging to her brother Aleksey Perovsky, who became Aleksey Konstantinovich's tutor and a long-time companion. -

Traditional expressions in folktales from Russkoye Ustye TRADITIONAL EXPRESSIONS IN FOLKTALES FROM RUSSKOYE USTYE EXPRESSÕES TRADICIONAIS EM CONTOS FOLCLÓRICOS DE RUSSKOYE USTYE EXPRESIONES TRADICIONALES EN CUENTOS POPULARES DE RUSSKOYE USTYE Galina Egorovna ZHONDOROVA1 ABSTRACT: The article deals with the study of traditional linguistic formulas in the folktales of Russkoye Ustye and the semantic-value space inherent in the Russian old residents' subdialects of Yakutia testifying to the figurative-speech stereotypes of linguistic culture. Presumably, since the beginning of the 17th century, Russian old residents have been compactly living in a foreign-language environment in the Arctic territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the largest federal subject of the Russian Federation. The old residents are the oldest group of the Russian people in Siberia. The research is carried out based on folklore and dialectal linguistic material collected from representatives of the ethnos and reflected in the collection "Folklore of Russkoye Ustye". In the semantics of traditional linguistic formulas used in folk tales that have their original and individual form compared to other Siberian folktales, there is a close connection between the lexical meaning and the specific realities of the life of Russian old residents in Yakutia. RESUMO: O artigo trata do estudo das fórmulas linguísticas tradicionais dos contos populares de Russkoye Ustye e do espaço valor-semântico inerente aos subdialetos de Yakutia, antigos residentes russos, atestando os estereótipos do discurso figurativo da cultura linguística. Presumivelmente, desde o início do século 17, os antigos residentes russos têm vivido compactamente em um ambiente de língua estrangeira no território ártico da República de Sakha (Yakutia), o maior súdito federal da Federação Russa. -

These records may or may not have been publicly acknowledged for various individual reasons. However, in some cases, these oral works of art reached us due to the fact that they were reproduced and recorded in a written form. This way, anyone who wishes to learn about the folklore of a certain national group can do so, especially nowadays when many of these fine works of art had been translated from the source language to various target languages. The present article focuses on a literary analysis of the profound characters of Russian and Yakut folklore to see if and in what aspects do the notions they imply coincide linguistically, semantically and ideologically.
