Home to Lord and Lady Camoys’ family for over 850 years, Stonor Park is one of the oldest family homes still lived in today - but it’s no museum. As the oldest member of the Stonor family, the house has a thousand stories to tell. As well as being architecturally fascinating, each room contains a lifetime of experience and anecdote. A stroll through this house is a vivid walk through history. Highlights include the grand Gothic revival hall, atmospheric 17th century library and the dramatic long gallery opening on to beautiful Italianate gardens. We can arrange wonderful private tour where you will be entertained by the stories of the American arm of the family through to those who were imprisoned in the Tower of London during the Reformation. You can then make the most of the stunning parkland of the estate as you enjoy the amazing art of Clay Shooting, the sport of kings for generations. You will be welcomed to the grounds of your stunning country estates in the area. The estates offer a wonderfully warm welcome and include the exclusive use of the parkland for your clay shooting masterclass. Whether you want to fine tune your shooting skills or discover the enjoyment of handling a gun and breaking clays, the sense of achievement at the end of the session will be yours to take away. If you choose the full day option, during the morning you will receive expert tuition using multiple clay traps and after lunch you can experience the thrill of a simulated shoot. This is as close to a game shoot as you can find, the clays will be fired in flurries in many directions, challenging your eye, your direction and speed of response. It’s a truly exciting finale. Lord Fermoy has extensive connections within British society. Educated at Eton, Lord Fermoy then passed into the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and was commissioned into the Household Cavalry, the Blues and Royals. His postings included that of a Troop Leader at the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in Knightsbridge, London, carrying out Queen's Life Guard and State Ceremonial duties, including state visits, the opening of Parliament by the Queen, the Lord Mayor's Show, the Garter Service at Windsor and the Queen's Birthday Parade on Horse Guards Parade. He served for seven years, retiring at the rank of Captain. Lord Fermoy's grandmother Ruth, Lady Fermoy was a Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth. Subsequently, Lord Fermoy was appointed Page of Honour to Queen Elizabeth from 1982 to 1984. His father, Edmund, was younger brother to Frances Shand-Kydd, mother to Lady Diana Spencer, making Lord Fermoy her first cousin. Lord Fermoy attended her marriage to HRH Prince Charles, Prince of Wales in 1981. Lord and Lady Fermoy attended the royal wedding of HRH Prince William to Catherine Middleton in 2011.
