RAILWAYS ORDINANCE (Chapter 519) (Notice under section 6(4)) KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY CORPORATION (‘KCRC’) NORTH-WEST RAILWAY (LIGHT RAIL)—MODIFICATION AT PUI TO ROAD, , NEW TERRITORIES Notice is hereby given that the Secretary for Transport proposes to modify the KCRC North-west Railway (Light Rail) (‘LR’) at Pui To Road in Tuen Mun, New Territories, as described in the scheme and shown on General Layout Plans Nos. WR/01/C04/022 to 025 (the ‘Plans’) annexed thereto. The scheme and the Plans have been deposited in the Land Registry. The general nature and effects of the scheme are as follows:— A section of the existing LR tracks running at-grade along Pui To Road in Tuen Mun will be modified and replaced by 1.1 kilometres of elevated tracks and structures from Kin On Stop in the west to Pui To Stop in the east and from in the north to Tuen Mun in the south, comprising grade separation of three LR/road junctions. The modification involves the following works:— (a) construction of:— (i) an approximately 290 metres long viaduct along Pui To Road between Kin On Stop and the LR/road junction at the west bank of Tuen Mun River Channel; (ii) an approximately 240 metres long viaduct between Ho Tin Stop and the LR/road junction at the west bank of Tuen Mun River Channel; (iii) an approximately 65 metres long viaduct between San Fat Stop and the LR/road junction at the west bank of Tuen Mun River Channel; (iv) an elevated San Fat Stop; (v) an approximately 300 metres long viaduct along Pui To Road between San Fat Stop and Pui To Stop; and (vi) an approximately 190 metres long viaduct between Pui To Road/Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road junction and Tuen Mun Town Centre Stop; (b) demolition of an existing cyclist/pedestrian bridge over Tuen Mun River Channel; (c) demolition and re-provision of the footbridge link access between the Trend Plaza and Tuen Mun Town Park; (d ) associated modification of three existing LR/road junctions at Pui To Road/Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road, Pui To Road on west bank of Tuen Mun River Channel and Pui To Road/Tsun Wen Road; (e) abandonment of the existing LR tracks at ground level between Pui To Stop in the east, Kin On Stop in the west, Ho Tin Stop in the north and Tuen Mun Town Centre Stop in the south; ( f ) rail track works, rail track formation works, earthwork, civil and structural works, mechanical works and electrical works; (g) ancillary works including associated drainage works, slope works, landscaping works and water works; (h) associated reconstruction and re-alignments of the existing roads including carriageways, footpaths and cycle tracks; (i) relocation of westbound platform of the existing LR Kin On Stop; ( j ) modification of existing LR viaduct at Pui To Stop; (k) provision of interim LR track diversion along Pui To Road (section between Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and LR Pui To Stop), and on existing cycle tracks/footpaths to the west of Tuen Mun River Channel and Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road (section between Pui To Road and north of Tuen Mun Town Centre Stop); and (l ) provision of temporary works area at Hoi Chu Road and Hoi Wah Road. The scheme and the Plans are available for inspection by members of the public free of charge at the following places:— Central and Western District Office Public Enquiry Service Centre Ground Floor, Harbour Building 38 Pier Road, Central Hong Kong; Office 2nd Floor, Tuen Mun Government Offices 1 Tuen Hi Road Tuen Mun New Territories; and District Lands Office, Tuen Mun 6th Floor, Tuen Mun Government Offices 1 Tuen Hi Road Tuen Mun New Territories during the following hours when those offices are normally open to the public.
