    Regular Meeting of the Town Board December 9, 2008 A regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Sweden was held at the Town Hall, 18 State Street, Brockport, New York, on Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Town Board Members present were Supervisor Buddy Lester, Councilperson Rob Carges, Councilperson Patricia Connors, Councilperson Tom Ferris and Councilperson Danielle Windus-Cook. Also present were Superintendent of Highways Fred Perrine, Finance Director Leisa Strabel and Town Clerk Karen Sweeting. Visitors present were residents Jim Hamlin, Vesta Teeter, Cora Schrader and Rebecca Donohue; Attorney Reuben Ortenberg; and guests Jim and Jennifer Perry along with their three children. Supervisor Lester called the meeting to order at 7:38 p.m. and asked everyone present to say the Pledge to the Flag. Councilperson Ferris introduced Jim and Jennifer Perry. Mr. Ferris stated that the Town Board wanted to recognize Jim and Jennifer Perry because they saw a need for dugouts on a junior baseball field at the Sweden Town Park and asked the Town Board if they could improve and build dugouts for that field. The Perrys’ worked with Town staff to pour foundation and build two nice dugouts. Mr. Ferris added that future plans for additional dugouts have been discussed. Individual acts such as this make our community what it is. Mr. Ferris presented a certificate of recognition to Jim and Jennifer Perry.     Coaching Articles : Eric Musselman File For Coaches Jackson makes Hall of Fame on principle By Roscoe Nance, USA TODAY Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson heads the 2007 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame class, which will be inducted Saturday in Springfield, Mass. The group includes University of North Carolina men's coach Roy Williams, Louisiana State University women's coach Van Chancellor, the 1966 Texas Western University men's team, referee Marvin "Mendy" Rudolph and international coaches Pedro Ferrandiz of Spain and Mirko Novosel of Yugoslavia. Jackson, 61, has won nine NBA championships as a coach — six with the Chicago Bulls and three with the Lakers — tying Hall of Famer Red Auerbach's record. He has coached some of the NBA's greatest players, including Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen with the Bulls and Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal with the Lakers. Jackson gets players to buy into his coaching philosophy, which is influenced by Native American and Eastern beliefs. "The great thing about Phil is the way he has handled players," Hall of Famer Magic Johnson said. "He has a different style, too, that old Zen thing. I love him because he never gets too high and never gets too low and always wants to help the guys grow as men. He teaches them basketball and also teaches them outside the sport." One of his more renowned strategies is handing out books for players to read during road trips. "He's trying to get players to see that there's more to life than the NBA and your performance today," said NBA TV analyst Steve "Snapper" Jones.

In the video from the Feb. 8, 2017, game, Dolan is seen to speaking to a security official, who then briefly approached Oakley without incident. Later, Dolan is seen looking back toward Oakley, who was seated just a few feet away in the row behind the owner, and then giving a signal just before a team of security officials arrived to escort Oakley out. Of course, the confrontation turned ugly when Oakley resisted and shoved security guards before they forcibly removed him. Oakley was arrested, but he accepted a deal with prosecutors in August that eventually dismissed the misdemeanor assault and trespass charges against him. Immediately after the incident, the Knicks alleged Oakley was removed from the arena because of his "abusive behavior." Oakley, however, has consistently denied those allegations. "Mr. Oakley can be seen laughing and casually interacting with fans," his attorney, Douglas Wigdor, says in the court filings. "Nowhere is there evidence that he was acting as belligerently as (Dolan and MSG) falsely claim." The newly surfaced video, obtained and first reported on by the New York Daily News, was introduced as evidence in Oakley's lawsuit, filed in Manhattan Federal Court, alleging he was a victim of assault, battery, false imprisonment and slander.
