Hi All

Just to give you an update from yesterday for Presco's. My PCSO's detained 2 of our very well known Portuguese heroin users in the far corner of the rear car park of Presco's. One had recently injected, had marks on his arm and numerous needles in his pocket. The other has been arrested for being drunk and disorderly in Road late last year, is a methadone user and has had many alcohol seizures carried out on him. As I attended the scene I walked passed Manager Tarik who was standing outside on the corner watching what the PCSO's were doing. He did not come over to enquire what was happening with his shops carpark or get involved throughout the stop and search process.

The rear car park area is covered in drug paraphernalia and needles both open capped and closed. There is a real strong stench of stale urine. It is obvious that there has been no effort to clean the area up at all since our last test purchasing operation many weeks ago and it appears to have got worse with needles littering the floor.

On dealing with the two males, I went and approached Tarik and stated that Licensing would be informed. He started back-tracking and started saying the Portuguese guys give him problems and he chases them off etc. He stated he would ring police in future and that he was having problems adding the security gate at the back of the premises due to an issue with parts. He clearly has not made any efforts to improve that shop or to deal with the issues in the area

If you require a further statement from me regarding yesterday, please let me know

Kind regards

Tony
