1-1 System Requirements

This section describes the system requirements for iW Function Flow.

2-1 Installing and Starting iW Function Flow

To use iW Function Flow, it is necessary to install an application file and license file in the device, and then start iW Function Flow. The application file is included on the CD-ROM that contains this instruction manual. The following two methods exist for installing iW Function Flow: ••Using SMS (Service Management Service) ••Using the "Register/Update Software" Function This section describes the procedure for installing iW Function Flow using SMS (Service Management Service) from a Web browser of a computer on the network. To use the Register/Update Software function, install iW Function Flow from the touch panel display or a computer (Remote UI). For more information, see the manuals for the device.

IMPORTANT ••License files may be provided by your local authorized Canon dealer, or they may have to be retrieved from the license management system on the Internet. The URL for the license management system is: http://www.canon.com/lms/license/ ••A license access number and device serial number are required to retrieve a license file from the license management system. The device's serial number is the number displayed on the bottom of the screen when you press [Counter Check] on the device (and is also displayed in the top left of the SMS screen). ••Store the license file in a safe place. It may be required when reinstalling iW Function Flow. ••If the device enters the Shutdown mode while installing iW Function Flow, an error message is displayed on the SMS installation page. The installation may be canceled. In this case, restart the device, and then install iW Function Flow again. For information on restarting the device, see the manuals for the device. ••When installing iW Function Flow on a device that already has it installed, it is recommended that you export the flows registered in the device. For more information, see the User’s Guide for iW Function Flow.

2-2 Installing and Starting iW Function Flow 1. Start your Web browser → enter the following URL. http:// The Log In screen is displayed. 2. Enter the required items → click [Log In].

IMPORTANT ••Log in with administrator privileges (System Administrator or User Authentication Administrator). ••For information on login services, see the manuals for the device.

If you are not using a login service: Enter [System Manager ID] and [System PIN] → click [Administrator Login]. The default System Manager ID and System Password is '7654321'.

If DepartmentID Authentication (Department ID Management) is set as the login service: Enter [Department ID] and [PIN] → click [Log In].

If User Authentication is set as the login service (default status): Enter [User Name] and [Password] → select [Login Destination] → click [Log In].

The Login page of SMS is displayed. If User Authentication is set as the login service, proceed to step 5. 4. Click [Log In]. The default password is 'MeapSmsLogin' (case-sensitive).

The [MEAP Application Management] page is displayed.

NOTE ••The following available resources are required to install iW Function Flow on a device: --Storage/Hard Disk: 200 MB --Memory: 10 MB --Threads: 22 --Sockets: 2 --File Descriptors: 14

The [Install MEAP Application/License] page is displayed.

Installing and Starting iW Function Flow 2-5 6. Click [Browse] → specify the path to the application file (.jar) and license file (.lic).

7. Select [Install and Start] or [Only Install].

If you select [Install and Start], it is not necessary to perform step 10. 8. Click [Install]. The installation confirmation page is displayed.

2-6 Installing and Starting iW Function Flow 9. Click [Yes]. Wait until the installation is complete. 10. Click [Start] for [iW Function Flow].

The status field changes from [Installed] to [Started], and iW Function Flow can be used.

NOTE ••It is not necessary to start/stop iW Function Flow every time the main power of the device is turned ON/OFF. 11. Click [Log Out from SMS]. If User Authentication is set as the login service, click [Log Out].

Use SMS (Service Management Service) to uninstall iW Function Flow. Perform the procedure for uninstalling iW Function Flow in the following order: ••Stop iW Function Flow ••Disable the License File ••Download and Delete the Disabled License File ••Uninstall iW Function Flow 1. Start your Web browser → enter the following URL. http:// The Log In screen is displayed. 2. Enter the required items → click [Log In].

The [Application/License Information] page is displayed.

A confirmation page for disabling the license file is displayed. 9. Click [Yes]. [Download] in [Download/Delete Disabled License File] are enabled. 10. Click [Download] for [Download/Delete Disabled License File].

IMPORTANT ••Store the downloaded license file in a safe place, as it is used when reinstalling iW Function Flow.

3-6 Stopping and Uninstalling iW Function Flow 11. Follow the instructions on the screen to save the disabled license file (extension: lic). 12. Click [Delete] for [Download/Delete Disabled License File].

A confirmation page for deleting the license file is displayed. 13. Click [Yes]. 14. Click [MEAP Application Management]. The [MEAP Application Management] page is displayed, and the license field of iW Function Flow changes to [Not Installed]. 15. Click [Uninstall] for [iW Function Flow]. The uninstallation confirmation page is displayed. 16. Click [Yes]. [iW Function Flow] is deleted from the list of applications. 17. Click [Log Out from SMS]. If User Authentication is set as the login service, click [Log Out].
