Search & Rescue UPDATE Greetings from the Tiger’s Lair here in Hangar 9. Another relatively quiet one this week here at 424 Squadron. We had only two call-outs. The first was on Nov 14, when our CC-130 was sent to the Peterborough area to investigate an Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT). Shortly after the Herc arrived in the area, the ELT was located in a building by a local CASARA unit and our crew returned to Trenton. The second task was for another ELT but this time it was right here in the Trenton area. Our Herc crew was once again called upon to investigate. After flying multiple passes over the Base it was determined the signal was coming from the 10 Hangar area. It was not possible to localize the signal any further from the air, and the crew returned to Base.
