Depo Gıdalarını Ve Peynirleri Enfeste Eden Akarlara Halk Sağlığı Açısından Bakış Türkiye Parazitoloji Dergisi, 34 (3): 191199, 2010 Türkiye Parazitol Derg. © Türkiye Parazitoloji Derneği © Turkish Society for Parasitology Depo Gıdalarını ve Peynirleri Enfeste Eden Akarlara Halk Sağlığı Açısından Bakış Sibel CEVİZCİ1, Seher GÖKÇE1, Kamil BOSTAN2, Ayşe KAYPMAZ1 İstanbul Üniversitesi 1Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi, Halk Sağlığı Anabilim Dalı, 2Veteriner Fakültesi, Besin Hijyeni ve Teknolojisi Anabilim Dalı, İstanbul, Türkiye ÖZET: Akarlar, bireylerin fiziksel, sosyal ve ruhsal sağlığını da olumsuz etkileyen, yaşam kalitesini azaltan atopik dermatit, aler‐ jik rinit ve astım gibi çok sayıda alerjen kaynaklı rahatsızlıklara neden olabilen mikro canlılardır. İnsanların yaşadığı her yerde bulunabilen akarlara çeşitli gıda maddelerinde de rastlanmaktadır. Bu derlemenin amacı depo gıdalarında, özellikle peynirlerde bulunabilen akar çeşitlerini incelemek ve neden olabilecekleri olası rahatsızlıkları halk sağlığı açısından değerlendirmektir. Bazı yöresel peynir çeşitlerinin dışında depo gıda maddelerinde akar bulunması, sağlık açısından getirebileceği risklerden dolayı arzu edilmemektedir. Bununla birlikte peynirlerde, özellikle açıkta olgunlaştırılan peynirlerde akar enfestasyonu her zaman söz ko‐ nusu olabilmektedir. Oysaki her yaşta birey tarafından tüketilebilen peynirlerdeki akarların tüke‐ ticilerde görülen alerjik reaksiyonların muhtemel sebeplerinden birisi olma ihtimali her zaman vardır. A View of Mites Infestation on Cheese and Stored Foods in Terms of Public Health SUMMARY: Mites are small live organism that may result in a large number of allergenic diseases such as atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis and asthma that may cause individuals' physical, social and mental health, adversely affects quality of life. Mites that can be found everywhere where people live are found in various foodstuffs. The purpose of this review is to examine the types of mites and possible illness result from mites can be found in stored foods especially cheese in terms of public health assessment. Finding mite in the stored foods except for some local cheeses is not desirable because of it’s health risks. However, especially in cheese which is maturing in the open always to be the case of mite enfestation. In particular, this risk is much higher in some enterprises where have not taken measures enough in terms of food safety. Besides the lack of standarts related to cheese, fighting against mite in quality assurance systems have generally not been taken into consideration. Whereas mites in cheese consumed by individuals at any age, there is always a possibility of the potential cause of the allergic reactions seen in the consumer. Prevention of possible infestations in cheese, potential presence of storage mite and cheese mite in various stored foods and local cheese of Turkey should be investigated more comprehensive and protective measures should be developed in order to protect public health against mites. Key Words: Cheese mite, storage mite, public health, food hygiene.

  • Catalog and Bibliography of the Acari of the New Zealand Subregion!
Pacific Insects Monograph 25: 179-226 20 March 1971 CATALOG AND BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE ACARI OF THE NEW ZEALAND SUBREGION! By A.V. Spain2 and M. Luxton3 One of the main problems encountered in studying the mites, or Acari, of New Zealand is the scattered nature of the literature on the group, much of that on taxonomy occurring in a wide range of European publications. This paper gives the species known from the New Zealand Subregion, together with an extensive bibliography covering all aspects of their study. It expands and updates the earlier works of Lamb (1952) and Dumbleton (1962) but does not include species recorded only as quarantine interceptions. This information is available from Manson (1967) and Manson & Ward (1968). Acarology is now a vigorous science as demonstrated by the growing number of publica tions reflecting acarological interests as diverse as public health, marine zoology and agriculture. Interest in taxonomic acarology is expanding, new synonymies being regularly reported in systematic papers. No attempt is made here to establish new combinations for the New Zealand Acari, even where this appeared necessary, but those already reported in the literature have been included to avoid confusion. Detailed notes on synonymy have not been added to the list except in certain instances (e.g. the species of the genus Halozetes: Cryptostigmata) where confusion has been especially great. Over the past few years intensive collecting by staff of the B. P. Bishop Museum of Hawaii, and by members of the various Antarctic expeditions, has produced many new species of Acari from New Zealand's subantarctic islands.

SYNTHESIS AND PHYLOGENETIC COMPARATIVE ANALYSES OF THE CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF KARYOTYPE EVOLUTION IN ARTHROPODS by HEATH BLACKMON Presented to the Faculty of the Graduate School of The University of Texas at Arlington in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT ARLINGTON May 2015 Copyright © by Heath Blackmon 2015 All Rights Reserved ii Acknowledgements I owe a great debt of gratitude to my advisor professor Jeffery Demuth. The example that he has set has shaped the type of scientist that I strive to be. Jeff has given me tremendous intelectual freedom to develop my own research interests and has been a source of sage advice both scientific and personal. I also appreciate the guidance, insight, and encouragement of professors Esther Betrán, Paul Chippindale, John Fondon, and Matthew Fujita. I have been fortunate to have an extended group of collaborators including professors Doris Bachtrog, Nate Hardy, Mark Kirkpatrick, Laura Ross, and members of the Tree of Sex Consortium who have provided opportunities and encouragement over the last five years. Three chapters of this dissertation were the result of collaborative work. My collaborators on Chapter 1 were Laura Ross and Doris Bachtrog; both were involved in data collection and writing. My collaborators for Chapters 4 and 5 were Laura Ross (data collection, analysis, and writing) and Nate Hardy (tree inference and writing). I am also grateful for the group of graduate students that have helped me in this phase of my education. I was fortunate to share an office for four years with Eric Watson.
