Richardson (Chairman); Cllr Mr A. Smith (Vice-Chairman); Cllr Mrs J Rufey, Cllr Mrs C Birch and Cllr Mr R Gotheridge In Attendance: The Deputy Clerk The Meeting was opened at 6.36 p.m. Apologies: Cllr Mrs Stallard – family commitment. Apologies accepted and approved. 251.20pl Declarations of interest: Cllr Mrs Richardson declared a personal/prejudicial interest in AW/65/21/T as the applicant is known to her and so she would not take part in the discussion or the vote. 252.20.pl To approve as a correct record the minutes of the Planning Meeting held on Monday 1st March 2021 Resolved, that the minutes of the meeting held on Monday 1st March having been circulated in advance and read be adopted, as a true record. 253.20pl Actions from previous meeting and Clerk’s report 245.20pl The Deputy Clerk placed the decisions of the Planning Committee on to the Arun website and contacted the relevant ward Members where appropriate. (Members’ responses to AW/353/20/OUT were brought to the attention of the relevant ward Members) 254.20pl Any such matters as the Chairman may wish to bring to the attention of the Committee for information only. OWPC34528 AW/55/21/HH 04.03 Loft conversion & single storey side extension. 19 Grosvenor Gardens Aldwick Bognor Regis Decision: NO OBJECTION Members have no objection to the application. OWPC34529 AW/56/21/HH 04.03 Removal of conservatory and erection of single storey rear extension, single storey side extension and alterations to existing hall extension 41 Gossamer Lane Aldwick Decision: NO OBJECTION Members have no objection to the application. However, Members noted that building appeared to have started on the side extension before the application was heard. OWPC34530 AW/62/21/T 04.03 Crown lift to 5m 1 No. Lombardy Poplar and remove deadwood. The Fairway Aldwick Bay Estate Aldwick Decision: NO OBJECTION Members agreed that the Arun arboriculturist is consulted regarding the application and that his recommendations/decision be applied. OWPC34531 AW/354/20/T 11.03 To reduce 3 No. Maple Trees (T2) lateral branches to 6.5m, which are overhanging garage by 1.5 metres. To reduce 1 No. Oak Tree (T1)lateral branches to 7m spread. 4 The Spinney Aldwick Decision: NO OBJECTION Members agreed that the Arun arboriculturist is consulted regarding the application and that his recommendations/decision be applied. OWPC34532 AW/46/21/HH 11.03 Double storey side extension. 15 Southwark Walk, Aldwick Decision: NO OBJECTION Members have no objection to the application. OWPC34534 Having declared an interest in the following application, Cllr Mrs Richardson did not comment or vote upon the item. AW/65/21/T 11.03 Crown reduction to height approx. 7.5m and spread approx. 3.5m 4 No. Monterey Pine trees. 11 & 15 Waters Edge Aldwick 2 Chairman: Date: 29th March 2021 Planning Minutes 210315 Members agreed that the Arun arboriculturist is consulted regarding the application and that his recommendations/decision be applied. OWPC34536 AW/67/21/T 11.03 Fell 1 No. Oak tree (T1). 35 Fernhurst Gardens Aldwick Decision: OBJECTION Members strongly objected to the application on the grounds that good husbandry in relation to the tree should be considered before any decision be made to fell an oak tree, which has a long growing period. Further, the information given left Members uncertain as to the precise location of the tree. OWPC34539 AW/70/21/HH 11.03 Loft conversion. 45 Leonora Drive Aldwick Pagham Decision: NO OBJECTION Members have no objection to the application. OWPC34542 257.20pl To agree that the decisions made by the Planning Committee are submitted to Arun District Planning Authority and that any relevant submissions for Development Control are sent to the appropriate Ward Member. Seconded and carried. 258.20pl To report any tree issues A Member reported a fallen tree in Silverston Avenue which had caused damage to a nearby property. The matter has been reported. 259.20pl To report any compliance issues Nothing to report. 260.20pl Feedback from Development Control Committee meetings The Vice Chairman reported that AW/3/21/HH was approved, while AW/5/21/HH was refused. 261.20pl To receive feedback from the West Bersted Advisory Group: None for this issue. 262.20pl Correspondence for the Planning Committee The Deputy Clerk read 4 emails: (i) An email regarding the forthcoming meeting of the Aldwick West & Pagham Advisory Group on 24th March via Zoom. The Vice-Chairman confirmed that he would attend. (ii) An email from Arun stating that AW/24/21/T has been refused. (iii) An email regarding a written question to the Cabinet Member for Planning in relation to P/132/20/RES. (iv) An email from Arun District Council relating to a consultation concerning C.I.L. payments. The Deputy Clerk agreed to forward this email to Members.
