Robert G. Douglass Irene E. Eskridge Geographically, Michiana covers approximately 17 counties in northern Indiana and five in David D. Gibson southwestern Michigan. It stretches from the lakeshore along Lake Michigan to the Amish William A. Gitlin communities in LaGrange County, Indiana. It is an area of farms and fields, factories and Tracy D. Graham fisheries. It is dotted with hundreds of small lakes and borders Lake Michigan. Michiana contains Larry D. 10 It’s a hit!

While only on the air for a little more than a month, WNIT’s Experience Michiana is already drawing rave reviews for its coverage of what makes our region so special.

Part of the reason is that this half-hour magazine-of-the-air has something for viewers of all ages. There are segments reviewing the latest DVD releases, nature and outdoor exploration. We visit museums, art galleries, and community theaters to find out what’s happening behind the scenes. The program also features a news and weather segment furnished by WSBT-TV.

“We provide reviews of music, movies and performing arts and behind-the-scenes looks at popular Michiana hot spots,” said co-producer Brenda Bowyer. “The cooking segments — White Chicken Chili, Pan-Seared Alaskan Halibut and Red Thai Curry — have been especially popular with viewers.”

“We’ll let you know what’s happening on the weekend, things to see and do, and those don’t-miss events that are taking place,” added co-producer Kelsy Zumbrun. “We highlight everything from the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to the renovation of the State Theater.”

Tune in weeknights on WNIT 34.1 and InFocus 34.2 to be a part of the experience.
