The area covered by the Neighbourhood Plan is the Lindfield and Lindfield Rural Parishes and incorporates the communities of Lindfield, Scaynes Hill and Walstead. Composing a Neighbourhood Plan is a very new and exciting way for communities such as ours to shape the future of the area we live in and I am very proud that our Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, with a great deal of community support, has progressed your plan to the submission stage. The process of creating your Neighbourhood Plan is being led by members of your community and is part of the Government’s recently revised approach to planning, which aims to give local people more say about what happens in the area in which we live. -

Nov 2018 – Jan 2019 Walks, Strolls & Events
Nov 2018 – Jan 2019 Walks, Strolls & Events South Downs Walks and Strolls Programme Registered Office: 2 Swan Court, Station Road, Pulborough, West Sussex RH20 1RL Tel: 01798 875073 Email: [email protected] www. southdownssociety.org.uk The Society is a limited company by guarantee, registered No. 319437 and is a registered charity No.230329 Dear Members This autumn/winter brings a fine range of walks and strolls. Thankfully as one or two leaders drop out, others return from sickness and injury. Thank you all leaders for your continuing efforts to fill our programme. As we write this letter, the weather is perfect for walking. We have recovered from the summer's heat, which was too much for some of us, but we now start to consider the possibility of mud! One strolls leader has entitled her mini-series 'On Sussex Hills' after the Sussex drinking song composed by Hilaire Belloc and sung frequently by the South Downs Folk Singers. Many other leaders have obviously been thinking the same, alert to the difficulties last winter and spring brought us - spot the hills in the titles! Some of you have been asking about numbers on walks. For the May to July programme the average was 6 or 7 per walk. Certainly in the very hot weather many stayed at home. Hopefully we shall see some of you at the Christmas lunch on 7th December and at the Christmas Walk and Stroll on 13th December with lunch at the The Shepherd and Dog, Fulking followed by Carols in Newtimber Church. Rosemary Warren (Walks co-ordinator). -

Newsletter Friday, 14 June 2019
Newsletter Friday, 14 June 2019 "Thank you for taking my daughter to Wales and giving her such an incredible opportunity. When she came home she seemed 5 years older! She had the time of her life and has not stopped talking about it since. She returned full of confidence and a belief that she can do anything." (Year 7 mum) Confidence – Opportunity – Potential Year 7 pushed themselves to the limit in Snowdonia participating in some really adventurous and challenging activities last week; Year 8 showed resilience and grit as they coped with some inclement weather in France after half term; they have also just enjoyed competing in the Copthorne “Bake-off” challenge, judged by professional chefs, with the cakes, scones and sandwiches shared with their parents; Year 6 children are cycling their way towards passing Bikeability awards (the HM failed his cycling proficiency test when he was 11!); children swam well at Ardingly despite not having trained in the school pool for several weeks (it is now open again!); Emi W came first in the IAPS National Under 12 Butterfly final and Katie F was second in the U11 Breaststroke event, held at the National Aquatic Centre in London. Our young chess players were magnificent in the UKI Championships, with the girls team victorious and the boys in second place; our wonderful “Carnival Float” committee were out in force last weekend preparing for tomorrows Horley Carnival; “Moving up“ morning enabled children from Oaks to Year 3 to spend time meeting their new teachers and classmates from September; sadly, Year 2 Rock pooling, Wednesdays sport and Thursday night Year 5 camping have all fallen foul of the weather, BUT the last two weeks have helped to develop children’s confidence, provide them with a wide range of opportunities, and has helped them realise their potential. -

Highways and Transport Schemes 2010/11
Annex SCHEMES TO BE PROGRESSED IF DEVELOPER FUNDING IS SECURED March 2010 Background This document is called “Schemes to be progressed if developer funding is secured” and is also known as the “Blue Book”. In line with latest national guidance (see below), County and District Councils have developed a structured approach to the identification of transport needs related to development proposals. This aims, in particular, to improve the link between meeting the needs of development and the aims of the Local Transport Plan. The County Council’s Works Programme and Forward Programme are produced annually to list the highways and transport schemes to be progressed with the funds available. This year, the Forward Programme has been extended to include schemes that have been identified, in liaison with the Local Planning Authorities, as meeting LTP objectives but that cannot be progressed within available funding. Developer contributions will be sought towards these schemes, where they are seen to meet the needs of development proposals. This extended Forward Programme has been subject to consultation and will be supported by District Councils and used to assist the development control process. The programme will be updated each year and it is intended to engage wider community interests in developing and updating the programme in future years. Planning Context Planning Policy Guidance Note 13 : Transport requires authorities to demonstrate a linkage between land use planning and transport policies and objectives. PPG13 recognises that: • Local Transport Plans have a central role in co-ordinating and improving local transport provision and should relate to measures which form part of the local approach to the integration of planning and transport. -
Elegant and Impressive Wing of a Fine Victorian House
ELEGANT AND IMPRESSIVE WING OF A FINE VICTORIAN HOUSE REID HOUSE, MILL HALL CUCKFIELD, WEST SUSSEX REID HOUSE, MILL HALL, WHITEMANS GREEN, CUCKFIELD, WEST SUSSEX RH17 5HX Entrance porch and hall ♦ drawing room ♦ dining room ♦ kitchen and sitting room ♦ loggia ♦ laundry / cloakroom ♦ pantry ♦ master bedroom with en suite shower room ♦ 2 further bedrooms ♦ bathroom ♦ separate WC ♦ box room ♦ parking area ♦ garden ♦ about a third of an acre in all ♦ EPC rating D Description Mill Hall dates from 1856, the wing forming Reid House is believed to have been added between 1890-95. The extension was clearly added as the ‘show wing’, with rooms of truly impressive proportions: a grand ballroom (now the drawing room), a handsome dining room (now the kitchen and sitting room) and two large bedrooms, ideally placed to take in the panoramic views to the north. The home of the eponymous Reid family from 1907-1947, it then became a well-respected school for the deaf until 1996 when it was divided into three properties. Reid House was at this time acquired by our clients. During their refurbishment of the property the house was carefully returned to its former glory: suspended ceilings were removed to reveal elaborate ornamental plasterwork, the panelling uncovered and original Victorian flooring restored. The result is an elegant and impressive period house, yet with all the warmth of a comfortable family home. The full extent of the layout and generous room sizes can be seen on the floor plans that follow. Outside Space Reid House is approached via a shared private driveway, which leads to a parking area providing ample parking for a number of cars.
