Thank you for supporting the Playhouse and thank you for supporting the arts of Long Beach. Theatre is not created in a vacuum; it takes a village, and an observer to finish the formula. We hope you enjoy our production and your whole visit with us. We are always open to input from you, a healthy dialogue with our audience can only improve what we produce on our stages. Let us know what you thought, we are open to critiques and compliments, we welcome it. Our Playhouse is a place where everyone is welcome and we hope you feel the same. Thank you, once again, for your patronage. Enjoy the show. Madison Mooney & Sean Gray [email protected] • Office: 562-494-1014 ex 503 [email protected] • Office: 562-494-1014 ex 506 5021 E. Anaheim St. LB, CA. 90804 Director’s Notes Growing up, I remember watching the “Million Dollar Movies” in the afternoon right after school. Most often they were Alan Ladd westerns and Bogart movies. But every once in a while, there was Boris Karloff in Frankenstein or Bela Lugosi in Dracula. Dracula was always my favorite. I am fascinated with the Dracula myth and vampire lore. Whether it is the fantasy of immortality, or freedom from societal structure or just the fact that vampires are the ultimate “bad guys”, I am fascinated by them. I have seen every version from the Bela Lugosi to Gary Oldman, with only the exception of Twilight. I am honored and appreciative that Long Beach Playhouse has afforded me the opportunity to share my vision with you. -James Rice The Setting Dr. Seward’s Sanitorium; Outskirts of London There will be one 15 minute Intermission Behind the Scenes The Director James Rice James is a nearly 30-year veteran actor and director who has been involved with over 100 productions throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties.
