-9- Live Auction Women in the Boise Hills Becka Watkins was inspired to paint. Here’s the story behind the art: I walk daily in the Boise hills with my 3 dogs. I am so grateful for the land that has been preserved that allows me to do this. Walking in the hills brings balance to my life. The hills are my therapy. I walked in them twice a day for weeks after my father committed suicide, my tears falling off my cheeks dripping into the path below. After 4 hospice patients of mine died in the same week, I took my pain to the hills and walked reflecting on the preservation of the land and a world that continues even when we don’t. I also meet a friend 2-3 times a week, and in those hills we walk and council each other and talk about life, love, sorrow and loss. Those hills know my pain, my joys, my sadness and my gratitude. They also provide daily joy to my dogs and I remain forever grateful for the preservation of land.
