Region II 122 families from Brgy. San Vicente, Iguig and Brgy. Masi, Pamplona (both in Cagayan) are temporarily housed at elementary schools and are taken care of by PDCC Cagayan and their respective MDCCs. Said families are expected to return to their homes as soon as weather conditions normalize. Two bridges, Tawi Bridge in Peñablanca; and Itawes Bridge in Tuao, are still not passable due to overflowed waters. Cagayan Electric Cooperative 2 shut down its power supply affecting fifteen municipalities. Power restoration is expected later today. Cagayan Governor Alvaro Antonio convened the PDCC on 22 Sep. to assess operational readiness of all concerned agencies. Region IV-A Sea travel from the Port of Real has resumed Batangas and Dalahican ports trips were not suspended/cancelled Region IV-B Heavy rains which started on 20 September caused flashflood damaging three (3) bridges in San Fernando, Sibuyan Island namely: Ipil Bridge in Brgy Panangcalan (both north and south bound approaches were damaged); Pili Bridge in Brgy. Pili (south bound approach was damaged); and Pugot Bridge in Brgy Pili (south bound approach damaged). Ongoing emergency restoration work by the DPWH District Office IV A total of 532 families were affected by the flashflood in three (3) barangays of San Fernando, Romblon namely: Panangcalan, Poblacion and Taclobo MDCC San Fernando headed by the municipal mayor with PNP personnel conducted relief operations in Brgy Panangcalan DPWH is sending assessment teams to assess bridges and identify measures to prevent river currents from damaging the approaches; DSWD IV-B to provide relief assistance to the three affected barangays in San Fernando, Romblon MDCC San Fernando convened at 10am today. Region V PCG District Bicol reports that all ports have been cleared of stranded passengers and vehicles. Daily operations in ports have reverted to normal. PDCC Catanduanes reported minor landslides rendering the following roads to be temporary impassable in Brgys. Paraiso and Pagsangahan in San Miguel; and Virac- Caramoran National Road in Brgy. Tanabanan, Caramoran all of Catanduanes. Said 2 roads are now passable with the removal of the landslide debris by the Catanduanes Engineering District Region VI A boat with six (6) passengers on board capsized on or about 8:00 AM, 21 September 2008 while crossing a river in Valderrama, Antique. Three of the passengers survived the incident; two fatalities ( Elimar “Mac-mac” Alejo Balensia and Clarita Viaje) have been recovered; and, the other person, Nila Alejo, who is still missing is the subject of SAR operations by Valderrama and Bugasong MDCCs. Region VIII One fatality, Rodrigo Duena, 29/M, recovered floating along Antiao River (Samar) In Looc Terminal, 66 vehicles with total of 640 passengers were stranded. Likewise, 27 vehicles with total of 399 passengers were stranded in Dapap Ferry Terminal. Both terminals are in Allen, Northern Samar Allen MDCC distributed food to the stranded passengers Region X 27 families were displaced; five houses were totally and 22 were partially damaged due to big waves in Purok 1 –C Barangay 19, Gingoog, City on September 21, 2008 The displaced/affected families evacuated to friends and relatives. They were provided with food and relief assistance by the Gingoog LGU The LGU concerned intends to provide the following assistance: - P3000.00 for each family with totally damaged house - P1,500.00 for each family with partially damaged house - P3,000.00 for each family with damaged banca CAR 2 dead, 17 injured due to landslides in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet 11 houses damaged: 6 totally; 5 partially Power failure reported at Sta. Marcela municipality (Apayao) since 5am Monday. Power fully restored in Mountain Province. Suspension of classes declared by local chief executives. Landslides and road cuts have rendered segments of the following roads impassable: o Balbalan Pinukpuk road (KALINGA) o Kalinga-Abra road (KALINGA) o Abra-Cervantes road (ABRA) o Abra-Kalinga road (ABRA) 3 .
