Hardships and inconveniences abound as we all work to protect ourselves and others around us. However, despite being #alonetogether, our community has done a magnificent job in helping our Senior class experience their milestone of graduation with as much pomp and circumstance as they can muster. Below and on the next pages are just some of the people and groups that helped honor the graduating class of 2020. Mr. Huffman, Mrs. Gaietto, Ben Smith and the Board of Education orchestrated the Senior parade, recording and showing the Senior Graduation video. Mrs. Gast and the Lunch Ladies provided treats for Seniors. Martina Barrett of AMIGOS Catering and Mr. & Mrs. Doug Kisseberth, drivers ed teacher, donated a nacho platter, bag of chips and a container of salsa to each of the seniors. Jerry & Wendy Shepherd of Rawson, owners of Shepherd's Kettle Corn provided each graduate with a bag of Kettle corn. Community members for “adopted” seniors and gave them goodies. Daylene Boehm made quarantine class shirts available for pur- chase The senior parents organized a "Drive Through Breakfast" Be inspired. See local artwork made during the pandemic. It was encouraging to see the parents and com- munity members who came out to cheer on the gradu- ates and helped decorate the parade route. There are two different Presidential Awards, the President’s Award for Out- standing Academic Excellence and the President’s Award for Outstanding Aca- demic Achievement. The criteria for the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence is as follows: a student must have received all A’s on quarters 1- 3 grade cards and score in the gifted range on state/national standardized tests. Recipients for this school year’s President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence are: Grade 6: Hank Walters, Laurey Wittenmyer Grade 5: Kaedyn Witteman Grade 4: Carrie Ludwig, Violet Simon The criteria for the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement is as follows: students who don’t quite meet the criteria for the Ac- ademic Excellence Award falling just short of the criteria for that award. These students have been named to the All A honor roll during one of the first three quarters of the school year and have scored in the gifted range on state/ national standardized tests.     1996-1997 Game-by-Game Recaps March 1, at Urbana University The top-seeded Blue Knights rallied in the second half to force overtime and then outscored MVNC 16-7 in the extra period for a 112-103 victory in the semi-finals of the Mid-Ohio Conference Tournament. The Cougars led 51-43 at halftime, but Urbana forced 15 second-half turnovers as they mounted their comeback. Brad Hostasa led MVNC with a career-high 30 points on 11-of-13 shooting from the field. Ehren Hull added 21 points with three three- pointers as he set a new single-season mark for treys with 133. Scott Dapprich finished with 18 points and eight assists, and he tied the school's consecutive free throws made record with 27 straight makes. Todd Sands rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points. February 27, TIFFIN UNIVERSITY In the first round of the Mid-Ohio Conference Tournament, the fourth-seeded Cougars knocked off fifth-seeded Tiffin 93-63 to set a new school record for wins in a season with 24. MVNC shot 64 percent from the field in the first half and nailed 12-of-18 three-point shots on their way to a 55-29 halftime lead.
