Hardships and inconveniences abound as we all work to protect ourselves and others around us. However, despite being #alonetogether, our community has done a magnificent job in helping our Senior class experience their milestone of graduation with as much pomp and circumstance as they can muster. Below and on the next pages are just some of the people and groups that helped honor the graduating class of 2020. Mr. Huffman, Mrs. Gaietto, Ben Smith and the Board of Education orchestrated the Senior parade, recording and showing the Senior Graduation video. Mrs. Gast and the Lunch Ladies provided treats for Seniors. Martina Barrett of AMIGOS Catering and Mr. & Mrs. Doug Kisseberth, drivers ed teacher, donated a nacho platter, bag of chips and a container of salsa to each of the seniors. Jerry & Wendy Shepherd of Rawson, owners of Shepherd's Kettle Corn provided each graduate with a bag of Kettle corn. Community members for “adopted” seniors and gave them goodies. It was encouraging to see the parents and com- munity members who came out to cheer on the gradu- ates and helped decorate the parade route. Every student received the same doodle in Google Classroom with a shape or line. Each week, two very creative drawings is selected for each grade level. Congratulations to these creative thinkers! There are two different Presidential Awards, the President’s Award for Out- standing Academic Excellence and the President’s Award for Outstanding Aca- demic Achievement. The criteria for the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence is as follows: a student must have received all A’s on quarters 1- 3 grade cards and score in the gifted range on state/national standardized tests. Recipients for this school year’s President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence are: Grade 6: Hank Walters, Laurey Wittenmyer Grade 5: Kaedyn Witteman Grade 4: Carrie Ludwig, Violet Simon The criteria for the President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement is as follows: students who don’t quite meet the criteria for the Ac- ademic Excellence Award falling just short of the criteria for that award. These students have been named to the All A honor roll during one of the first three quarters of the school year and have scored in the gifted range on state/ national standardized tests.
