Ms. Fezi Ngubentombi, Member of Executive Council responsible for Health in the Free State Province, in accordance with Section 7(3) of the Free State Hospital Act (Act No. 13 of 1996), invites nominations for membership of the following Hospital Boards:

FUNCTIONS OF THE HOSPITAL BOARD a) To represent community needs and priorities in the Hospital management. b) To oversee hospital performance, analyzing financial reports and patient statics and inform the head of the department of any mattes not clarified by hospital management. c) To play an active role in the governance and transparency on mattes affecting the running of hospital in the Free State Province. d) To carry out any functions designated to them by MEC for Health at any particular time in terms of the Free State Hospital Act.

TERM OF OFFICE a) The term of office of members of the hospital board is (3) three years. b) A member of the hospital board may be nominated and appointed for another term of office. c) Meetings of the Board will take place at the institution where the member is appointed. d) Appointment is on part time basis.

CRITERIA FOR NOMINATION

Nominations of South African citizens aged 21 years or older and resident of the catchment area. Nominees must be person with one or more expertise in: a) Accounting b) Financial Management c) Information Technology d) Religious Matters e) Legal Matters f) Community Members with proven record community development and involvement.

CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF BOOKMAKER LICENCE APPLICATION

In terms of Section 65, read with Section 78 of the Free State Gambling and Liquor Act, 2010 (Act 6 of 2010)

An invitation for bookmaker licence applications was issued by the Free State Gambling and Liquor Authority on the 18th of November 2010, inviting applications for bookmaker licences for the following areas:

Harrismith, Kroonstad, Parys, Thaba-Nchu, Ladybrand, Sasolburg and Welkom

The Free State Gambling and Liquor Authority herewith gives notice that the closing date for the submission of bookmaker licence applications in response to the above mentioned invitation is Friday the 29th of April 2011.

No applications received after the above mentioned closing date of the 29th April 2011 will be considered by the Authority.
