Rules for Use of the Library 1. Members may borrow certain books from the Society Library subject to the following Rules. The Rules may be changed from time to time and such changes will be published in the Society’s Journal. Members shall be deemed to be aware of them when borrowing books. 2. The Librarian and/or the Committee of the Society may decline to lend certain books for reasons of rarity, condition, or other reason, disclosed or not. 3. Borrowers will be responsible for re-imbursing outward postage. 4. Loans shall be for a period of four weeks maximum, during which time the member shall return the book securely wrapped by first class letter post or courier service, postage paid, and shall obtain an official Proof of Postage. Extension of loan may be granted by the Librarian at his/her absolute discretion. All other provisions of these rules shall apply to any extension period. 5. Members shall be responsible for the safe custody and return of books, and shall make good any loss or damage by any cause during the period of loan or due to inadequate packing for return postage. Any damage in transit to the member should be reported to the Librarian as soon as possible after receipt. 6. If a member fails to return any book, the Committee shall have power to decide any action to be taken against the member, including replacement of the book by purchase on the open market, with all such costs charged to the member.
