Statement of West Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers College Fair Participation

The College Day Committee of the West Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (WVACRAO) has developed the following guidelines to ensure professional standards are upheld at West Virginia College Day and Night Programs. Any organization participating will be expected to abide by the following guidelines.

1. All materials distributed should focus on education and factual information about your institution and its programs. This includes brochures, catalogs, compact discs (electronic view books), and other appropriate items. Candy, bumper stickers, plastic bags, pens, balls, balloons, pennants, buttons, or any other promotional material may not be distributed at the fair site.

2. If audio-visual equipment is permitted by the site or site coordinator, it must be confined to the college or organizations space. Audio levels must remain low so as not to interfere with the representatives around you. The host institution reserves the right to determine if audio levels are too high and should be discontinued.

3. All representatives of organizations are required to remain behind their tables when interacting with students.

4. Representatives should arrive and be set up at each program prior to the announced opening and should remain until the announced closing.

5. Displays should not obstruct the view of another institution’s/organization’s display.

6. Prizes or other gimmicks are not be used to gain a student's attention to any organization's display.

7. Except for emergency purposes, cell phone usage IS NOT allowed during college fairs.

The National AACRAO and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) support these guidelines. The host institution or a member of WVACRAO will advise any organization violating the above guidelines. Thank you in advance for keeping our college fairs professional and educational.
