Dr. Nick Floyd Senior Pastor Successor Nominee Cross Church DR. NICK FLOYD SENIOR PASTOR SUCCESSOR NOMINEE CROSS CHURCH The Board of Directors of Cross Church recommends Dr. Nick Floyd to be the Senior Pastor of Cross Church. In accordance to the bylaws, we are calling a special meeting of our church for Sunday April 28, 2019. A vote will be held on each of the Cross Church campuses at each of our services. Members of the Board of Directors thank you for your prayers and consideration. Beckham (9), Nick, Maya (4), Meredith, Norah (6), Reese (11) CROSS CHURCH BOARD ENDORSEMENTS ROBERT FARRELL Looking at the transition of our church body‚ from a dynamic local body into a multi-site local church with many state, national, and even global impact points — it is difficult to envision a leader with the experience, ability, and passion to take on this massive ministry. I believe God placed a man here years ago that demonstrates and exhibits growth in the leadership and pastoral skills needed to continue Cross Church along our mission path, to reach Northwest Arkansas, America, and the world for Jesus Christ. I believe that man is Dr. Nick Floyd. I affirm, in total, the recommendation of Dr. Nick Floyd as Senior Pastor of Cross Church. BOB MCCASLIN I believe God placed Nick Floyd in Cross Church for such a purpose as this. From Shiloh Christian School to seminary, to starting a campus on Wedington, Nick has allowed God to use him in mighty ways. Nick knows the culture of Cross Church and lives out our commitment to share the gospel with Northwest Arkansas, America, and the world. I believe no one is more qualified and prepared to take the helm of Cross Church than Dr. Nick Floyd. BERT MILLER Dr. Nick Floyd is an amazing pastor. I have literally known Nick all of his life. Pastor Nick is a prayer warrior. There is no compromise in his preaching the word of God — he is a great communicator in every sense of the word. He has a passion to see others come to know Jesus and he loves the Cross Church family. Pastor Nick lives what he preaches. As a member of the Cross Church Board of Directors, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Nick Floyd as Senior Pastor of Cross Church. TED SCHNEIDER Thirty-three years ago, First Baptist Church of Springdale selected five men as a search committee to find a prospective pastor for our church. These five men made a covenant that they would not recommend anyone unless it was a unanimous decision. That man was Ronnie Floyd. Now 33 years later, we are looking at somebody to follow Pastor Ronnie. Nick loves this church and above all else, Nick has been faithful to his Lord. He is qualified and capable of leading Cross Church into the future. Your Church Board is unanimous in their support of Dr. Nick Floyd. I believe he is God’s man for this hour. DONNIE SMITH I have watched Nick grow and mature as a leader since teaching him in the youth ministry. As evidenced by his resume, God has been preparing Nick for this role. I have no doubt that Nick is the leader God has chosen to lead our great church into the future. Nick is humble and at the same time confident — confident in God, that He will guide him to lead our fellowship. Nick is both culturally and generationally relevant. This should serve him well as he leads our church as the boomer generation gives way to the millennial generation as our nation’s largest demographic population. JERRY WALTON I have seen Nick’s academic career move from Shiloh Christian School to Liberty University to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and finally to Liberty University School of Divinity where he obtained his doctorate. Nick is qualified to become our Senior Pastor for the following reasons: He excels in the pulpit; he planted the church in Fayetteville; he led all aspects of planning, construction, and fund-raising. Since the Fayetteville Campus inception, we’ve seen consistent weekly attendance of 2,500-3,000 people. Dr. Nick Floyd is a proven leader capable of leading Cross Church into the future. ANDY WILSON Just over 10 years ago, Becky and I met with Nick and Meredith Floyd. Nick was a young ministry staff member at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas at the time. He and Meredith were in NWA to interview for a job opportunity at Cross Church on the Springdale Campus. Through the years, his passion for the gospel expanded along with his personal qualities of honesty, delegation, communication, commitment, creativity, and innovation development with his own personal uniqueness of leading people. As he put the vision for the Fayetteville Campus in place, not one challenge, setback, or problem kept Nick from completing the mission. It’s my pleasure to recommend Dr. Nick Floyd as Senior Pastor of Cross Church Northwest Arkansas. CROSS CHURCH MEMBER ENDORSEMENTS JEFF & JULIE CRAWFORD There is literally no one else in the world more qualified, equipped, and ready to serve as the next senior leader of our great church family, and we are excited to serve alongside Dr. Nick Floyd as our Senior Pastor. JAMES & BRITTANY DAVID Brittany and I are very excited to support Dr. Nick Floyd as Senior Pastor of Cross Church. For the last 9 years we have witnessed his humility and obedience first hand. We can’t wait to see what God will do next. JOHNELLE HUNT I have known Nick Floyd since he was just a small child. He has always been respectful of all people and has now grown up to become a strong leader in our church. I am so excited about Nick and the future of Cross Church. I believe Dr. Nick Floyd, as Senior Pastor, connects the best of our past and the present, with the future God has for our church. DONNIE & CHARLOTTE KING Dr. Nick Floyd is the most gifted communicator of the gospel today. Nick and Meredith have been uniquely blessed to have Pastor Floyd and Jeana pour their lives into them over the past 10 years. We believe God has called Nick and Meredith to continue leading our mission of reaching Northwest Arkansas, America and the world for Jesus Christ. BEN & SUE MAYES We have had the privilege to observe Nick as a student, a preacher, a teacher of God’s Word, a husband, a dad, and as a visionary leader of the entire Cross Church Ministry Team. We believe in Nick and there is no one else on earth we would rather have as our Senior Pastor than Dr. Nick Floyd. ROD WASHINGTON I recommend Dr. Nick Floyd to be the next Senior Pastor of Cross Church because I believe he is a gifted communicator of the Word of God. ROLAND & CINDY WEBER Nick Floyd is a passionate pastor-teacher, whose messages are relevant to all ages. Growing up at Cross Church, he understands the uniqueness of each campus. He will lead Cross Church with new vision and strong leadership skills. We believe Dr. Nick Floyd is the man God has chosen for such a time as this. PASTOR RONNIE & JEANA FLOYD As a growing leader, Nick practices humility in his life. Even with his increased responsibilities here and receiving recognition of his accomplishments nationally, he still leads with humility. His love for the gospel and evangelism unites all generations. Nick loves people and people love Nick. He connects the best of our past and present with the unlimited future God has for Cross Church. God is raising Nick up for such a time as this. When I think of Nick in his life today, I think of these words found in James 4:10, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.” DR. • The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission | Here We Stand
The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission | Here We Stand As evangelical Christians, we dissent from the court’s ruling that redefines marriage. The state did not create the family, and should not try to recreate the family in its own image. We will not capitulate on marriage because biblical authority requires that we cannot. The outcome of the Supreme Court’s ruling to redefine marriage represents what seems like the result of a half-century of witnessing marriage’s decline through divorce, cohabitation, and a worldview of almost limitless sexual freedom. The Supreme Court’s actions pose incalculable risks to an already volatile social fabric by alienating those whose beliefs about marriage are motivated by deep biblical convictions and concern for the common good. The Bible clearly teaches the enduring truth that marriage consists of one man and one woman. From Genesis to Revelation, the authority of Scripture witnesses to the nature of biblical marriage as uniquely bound to the complementarity of man and woman. This truth is not negotiable. The Lord Jesus himself said that marriage is from the beginning (Matt. 19:4-6), so no human institution has the authority to redefine marriage any more than a human institution has the authority to redefine the gospel, which marriage mysteriously reflects (Eph. 5:32). The Supreme Court’s ruling to redefine marriage demonstrates mistaken judgment by disregarding what history and countless civilizations have passed on to us, but it also represents an aftermath that evangelicals themselves, sadly, are not guiltless in contributing to. Too often, professing evangelicals have failed to model the ideals we so dearly cherish and believe are central to gospel proclamation.
