The ED, in its findings, has said that at least `120 crore was deposited in 73 bank accounts related to PFI and distributed across Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country to fuel anti-CAA protests. The ED is probing the financial transactions of the PFI under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) since 2018. Deccan Chronicle had recently carried a series of reports about how the anti- CAA protests had infused a new lease of life into the PFI which not only helped it expand its support base con- siderably (post the passing of the CAA in Parliament last year) but also saw an increase in the funds flow for the Kerala-based organi- sation, which is accused of several offences. Quoting the note forward- ed by the ED to the Union home ministry, sources said several payments and with- drawals were made in vari- ous areas around the time of protests during December last year and January. It was alleged that the funds deposited in banks were routed from foreign shores and sent to the accounts of certain invest- ment firms. ■ Page 6: PFI says it has not violated any rules c m y k c m y k THE LARGEST CIRCULATED ENGLISH DAILY IN SOUTH INDIA HYDERABAD I TUESDAY I 28 JANUARY 2020 WEATHER O WORLD 9 TABLOID Max: 33.5 C | SPORTS 14 Min: 17OC | RH: 38% Billie Eilish bags Basketball star Bryant Something sweet, Rainfall: Nil top 4 Grammies dies in chopper crash something hot Forecast: Partly cloudy sky.

RBI, which conducted a review following a demand made by the government to lift the restrictions in order to boost credit growth. RBI said that few banks are not in breach of the PCA (Prompt Corrective Action) parameters as per their published results for the quarter ending December 2018, except for return on assets (RoA). However, though the RoA continues to be negative, the same is reflected in the capital adequacy indicator. The PCA framework is triggered when a bank breaches one of the three risk thresholds, and crossing 6% net NPAs is one of them.
