A native Londoner (UK), his music is often described as belonging to Progressive House, although he prefers positioning himself closer to Tech House and sometimes being referred to as Progressive. He created his Dig Deeper label in 2008 and describes himself as Deepsexyfuturistictechfunkhouse. Danny is one of the few DJs on the scene today that truly has a style of his own. With his passion for all styles of music and infectious personality, Danny has created a unique, eclectic sound that has established him as one of the most renowned DJs in the world. He’s played in the world’s coolest clubs and held residencies at places such as Arc, Ministry of Sound, Twilo, Renaissance, The End, and Bedrock, as well as his own Dig Deeper nights worldwide. With a back catalogue of well received mix albums under his belt, he has previously compiled acclaimed mixes for Global Underground, being the only DJ to contribute to not only the main series with his Miami album, but also the 24:7 and Nu-Breed Series. On the remix front, Danny has previously mixed records such as Roachford’s “Ride The Storm”, Madonna’s “Get Together”, Marco Bailey’s “Smooth Drive”, and Bent’s “Waiting For You”. Other artists that have received the Danny Howells remix treatment include We Deliver, Stryke, International Observer, Robbie Williams, David Morales, BT, Chakra, Coco and Stonebridge, Destiny’s Child and many more, including most recently Felix Da Housecat’s purple tribute, “We All Wanna Be Prince”. “Montrealers will remember his legendary 13-hour marathon set at the now defunct Montreal Aria Nightclub, 13 years ago. Décrit par le magazine Fugues comme créateur exubérant ou par le magazine Salon comme personne ultra créative, Yanick Daigle est aussi concepteur de T-Dance gay et créateur en chef des looks capillaires du fashion show du Fétish Week-End qui se tient chaque année au mois de septembre devant des centaines de personne en collaboration avec des designers de partout à travers le monde. Lors du 25e Black&Blue, la Fondation BBCM avait mandaté Yanick comme Directeur Artistique des shows, mandat que celui-ci a réussi haut la main en apportant une nouvelle vision et en s’entourant de plusieurs artistes de scène.

    MARTIN GARCIA (DJ Set ) Since his beginnings as a professional DJ, Martin Garcia ’s artistic evolution was mainly lead by the British dance music industry, which he slowly incorporated and adapted to the local scene. After playing in different clubs of Buenos Aires , his sessions at internationally acclaimed Clubland nights at Pacha made him acquire a weight of his own. From that moment on, he’s played many times alongside Sasha , Nick Warren , Jimmy Van M . and Danny Howells , among other artists. A smooth m ixing technique and the details of his sound selections have gained him a huge recognition from the great number of progressive house fans along Argentina and Latin America. A success he’s also achieved as a producer, either individually or together as a p owerful duo with Hernan Cattaneo , releasing on labels such as Perfecto , Shinichi and Bedrock . In 2005 Martin was the first guest DJ at London's Kiss FM and he entered number 50 at DJ Mag 's ranking. De thesis legt overeenkomsten en verschillen in marketingtechnieken tussen de popmuziekwereld en de dancemuziekwereld bloot. De opkomst en creatie van de superster in de jaren tachtig worden bestudeerd, alsmede de geschiedenis van dancemuziek en marketingtechnieken in de dancescene. Hierdoor komen ook enkele fundamentele verschillen tussen deze twee muziekwerelden aan het licht. De dj is aan het einde van de 20 e eeuw het middelpunt geworden van de dancescene. Het uitgebreide takenpakket van een dj vertoont overeenkomsten met het takenpakket van een superster in de popmuziek. Ook op het gebied van de marketing zijn er diverse overeenkomsten gevonden in dit onderzoek. Hier zijn echter ook belangrijke verschillen aan het licht gekomen. Uit de interviews met specialisten uit de dancewereld blijkt dat de marketingmethodes die zij gebruiken, voor een groot deel overeenkomen met de benodigdheden die gevonden werden voor het bereiken van de supersterstatus in de popmuziek in de jaren tachtig. Vier van die zeven benodigdheden, te weten het verzorgen van optredens, wereldwijde distributie, cross-overs en weinig aanbod op het gebied van optredens, worden volledig identiek ook toegepast in de marketing van dj’s. Slechts met één punt, het bezitten van sex appeal, wordt op dit moment niets gedaan door de specialisten uit de dance-industrie.

He’s much regarded as one of the leaders who pioneered the tech house movement back in the early nineties, alongside the likes of Carl Craig, Vince Watson, Craig Richards, Mr C, Steve Bug and Francois K . Growing up in London, with Persian roots, Omid was influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Cure, Depeche Mode, RIDE and The Mission. Throughout his teens he became an accomplished musician playing a list of instruments while attending Richmond College and utilising the music rooms at any given chance. “I was supposed to be studying but always missed a lesson or two if the music rooms were free” Omid played his first gig in his home town Putney at the age of sixteen (Vocals/ Guitar), performing with his own band “The Reunion” which continued to play the pub circuit in London for a further two years. In the Early nineties the ‘Acid House Movement’ was turning heads, as was Omid’s enthusiasm to learn more about production and the independence to express one’s self without compromise.

An automated and interactive approach allows manipulation in realtime by users who may control the relative influence of source or target and the transition length. The techniques that were developed through this research were designed particularly for popular genres of predominantly instrumental electronic music which I will refer to collectively as Mainstream Electronic Music (MEM). The research has potential for application within contexts such as computer games, multimedia, live electronic music, interactive installations and accessible music or “music therapy”.
