The most important annual industry trade fair in Asia Pacific region - PTC ASIA 2020 was concluded successfully on November 6th, 2020 at Shanghai New International Expo Center. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a sudden challenge to 2020, after the unwillingly “pause button” was pushed for six months, the recovery process of the industry started. PTC ASIA 2020 attracted nearly 1,000 well-known exhibitors, covered 70,000sqm show area, and showcased new intelligent manufacturing achievements post the pandemic impact. The four-day show accommodated 101,057 trade visitors in total, the number was comparably higher than the 2018 edition which had similar show scale. Most of the exhibitors thought the visitors this year were more professional and accurate than last year. Over 130 buyers delegations from China Shendong Group under China Energy Group, Shanghai Electronic Group, Beiqi New Energy Vehicle Group, China Space Sanjiang Group, Bao Steel, BYD, Shanghai Machine Tool Co., Ltd., Suzhou Hamco, Cotek Robotics, Pan Asia, LS Heavy Machinery, KUKA, WEIFU, Eurocrane, CSSC Heavy Machinery visited and placed orders on the show.

Factorynetwork Business Conference (FBC)

The show gathered Japanese lean manufacturing enterprises, and showcased products include, automated machinery, robots, energy saving and environment protection equipment, electronic and electric intelligent home appliances and new energy materials. During the show Japanese and Chinese enterprises had active discussions about new energy, broadband speed increasing, robots, visualization and cooperation between Japanese and Chinese manufacturing industries. It built a communication and cooperation bridge between the Japanese and Chinese enterprises.

Industrial Supply Special Display Area

Industrial components and sub-contracting pavilion showcased cutting-edge technologies of the industry along the years, in the 2020 show, the pavilion showcased products on casting/die casting, forging, machine tool, metal sheeting, pressing, surface treatment, material and accessories, half-finished products and system/equipment, design engineering and manufacturing solutions, supporting services etc. It provided the exhibitors a platform for innovation exploring and business expanding.

China International Special Steel Industry Exhibition (CISSIE)

The show attracted special steel manufacturers, metallurgical equipment manufacturers, refractory abrasive manufacturers, related commercial chambers, industry associations and supporting enterprises from worldwide, the exhibitors showcased the advancing technologies and achievements of the industry. Together with other concurrent industrial shows, the show provided the manufacturers a comprehensive industrial trading platform and promoted the cooperation between upstream and downstream.

Online Guided Tour The newly launched “Online Guided Tour” was an efficient solution provided to the global visitors who cannot attend the show in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the camera crew, the organizer presented selected exhibitors to the global audiences, the English Online Guided Tour presentations delivered by the exhibitors were conveyed through multiple channels, attracted over 1,000 online audiences from 40 countries eg., US, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, Korean, India, Singapore, Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia etc. The 40 selected exhibitors were satisfied with the quality of the online audiences and buyers.

Enjoy the Meeting Through digging the true needs from both suppliers and the buyers, the optimized matchmaking program “Enjoy the Meeting” brought more qualified buyers to the exhibitors, and the buyers were also being benefited from the efficient and specific services. This year “Enjoy the Meeting” attracted over 12,000 participants from 700 companies, some of the buyers placed orders during the meeting. The feedback from the exhibitors were positive, they feel the quality is more important than the quantity, and the organizer delivered high quality buyers at this challenging time.

2020 Industrial Robot Industry Development and Technology Application Summit Themed with “Industrial Robots and Company Transformation & Upgrading”, the forum discussed the development trends of industrial robots, the application of industrial robots in automotive, electric and electronic equipment manufacturing and metal working industries. Over 80 representatives from China Robot Industry Alliance, branches of China Machine Components Association, related scientific institutions, manufacturers and end users attended the forum.

PTC ASIA Smart Drive Workshop - Smart Manufacturing Forum Powered by VDMA As the promoter of Industry 4.0 - IoT and predictive maintenance technology, German Mechanical Engineering Federation (VDMA) joined hands again with PTC ASIA, presented “Smart Manufacturing Forum Powered by VDMA” during PTC ASIA, it was the sixth edition of this forum, other than the usual topics of Industry 4.0, e.g., digitization, connection, communication, predictive maintenance and OPC unified architecture, VDMA also released new basic standards of OPC at the forum.

2020 China International Automotive Transmission and High Efficiency Transmission Technology Semina Themed with “Independent Innovation, The Core of Future Development”, 2020 China International Automotive Transmission and High Efficiency Transmission Technology Seminar shared new achievements of transmission technologies, representatives and experts from institutions, transmission R&D department of automobile manufacturers and transmission components manufacturers delivered speeches about recent development of domestic transmission technologies, the enriched contents brought active interactions among the participants.

Gasgoo Matchmaking Event - Specially for Power Transmission The match-making event for power transmission industry helped 9 buyers found suitable suppliers, products include, iron castings, aluminum castings, forgings, machine tool, plastic parts, fastener, sensor, liner, PCB, sealings and bearings, application covered, automobile chassis, automobile interiors, automobile power transmission system, EIC System and electronic appliance etc. Over 150 suppliers matched purchasing needs from 54 projects, the matchmaking succeed rate reached 70%. both suppliers and end users highly appraised the matchmaking event. The Gasgoo automobile sourcing project provided an efficient platform for purchasing projects of automotive industry, more buyers found suitable domestic made automobile components through this platform.

5G era transmission and Control Technology Development Summit Forum

Aimed to provide the customers having precise needs with power transmission and fluid power transmission solutions under the 5G development, the forum focused on the topics of power transmission technologies (electric drive, mechanic power transmission, liner, bearing etc.) and fluid power transmission technologies (hydraulic components, pneumatic power transmission technologies, sensor and inspection instrument, sealing technology etc.).
