Spotlight on Emmanuelle Vaugier Urban Trendz, March 2004 Local beauty Emmanuelle Vaugier is taking Hollywood by storm. She’s playing Lauren in Call Me, The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fleiss; on USA Network airing March 29th, Dr. Helen Bryce; Lex Luthor's wife on the WB's hit drama Smallville, and Jasmine, daughter of a Sultan in New Line's Secondhand Lions opposite Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Haley Joel Osment. Emmanuelle currently plays Nikki in the TV series One Tree Hill Tuesdays on The WB. She starred in WB comedy My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star, and in the film 40 Days and 40 Nights, opposite Josh Hartnett. She’s also completed starring roles in three independent films: Suddenly Naked, as a Latin pop sensation, Mindstorm, a scifi thriller, and Ripper, a psychological thriller about students disappearing after enrolling in a class about serial killers. On TV she’s had several gueststarring roles including, The Handler, Outer Limits, Higher Ground opposite Hayden Christensen and in the WB's Charmed. Emmanuelle also appeared in the Emmy Award nominated miniseries The Beach Boys: An American Family, where she portrayed Mike Love's wife Suzanne. Vaugier was born in Vancouver, grew up in a Frenchspeaking home, and has homes in both L.A. and Vancouver. She’s worn local Vancouver designer Cheri Milaney's fashions on the red carpet and on fashionmag photoshoots. Emmanuelle has graced the covers of Canadian magazines In Style, Modern Dog, and Flare. Emmanuelle Vaugier: A Far Cry from Smallville Click, August 2009 She’s worked with Uwe Boll, died imaginatively in Saw (and returned to the series) and worked on everything from Smallville to Two and a Half Men and CSI:NY. Click recently caught up with the stunning, and very busy, Emmanuelle Vaugier for a chat about Movies, TV and death scenes! Did you feel Angell in CSI: New York was enough of a character in the beginning to be interesting to play? I did. I didn’t have a lot of information on the character when I first started on the show, other than that she was a lead detective. We started with three episodes, with a possibility of continuing on the show after that; but there were no guarantees. I think at the time they didn’t know where they were going to go with the character yet. It was an amazing journey for me to be a part of, as they created and evolved this character. It was great to have the opportunity to stay on the show for three years and have a relationship with Eddie Cahill’s character, as well as become more involved in the cases. There was a focus on interpersonal relationships for you in the fifth season, was it better or worse than speaking tech? Oh definitely better. Talking technical dialogue is procedural and it’s not the most exciting stuff to memorise. It’s very dry and methodical, and there’s a certain sort of delivery to it. When you get the chance to have a personal relationship where there is a more natural conversation; emotions develop, and tension builds, it’s a lot more fun to be a part of than just purely procedural work.

Emmanuelle Vaugier to Play Painkiller Jane Comicscontinuum.com Emmanuelle Vaugier, who was a regular guest star in the second and third seasons of The WB's Smallville, has been cast to star in Sci Fi's Painkiller Jane television movie. Painkiller Jane is based on the Event Comics character created by Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti. Vaugier, a native of Vancouver British, Columbia, played Dr. Helen Bryce in nine episodes of Smallville. Her character eventually married and then deceived Lex Luthor. "I am really excited that Emmanuelle Vaugier was picked to play Painkiller Jane," Palmiotti told The Continuum. "She has the right amount of dangerous beauty that the character needs and is a wonderful actress as well. We scored big time with her and I cannot wait to see what she can do with the property. This is the perfect role for an actress on the rise like Emmanuelle." Vaugier's other television credits include North Shore, One Tree Hill and Charmed. NBC Universal TV Studios will produce the Painkiller Jane pilot which marks Sci Fi's first comicbook adaptation in association with MGM TV. The film is expected to begin production in Vancouver on Jan. 19. Palmiotti said the movie should appeal to fans of the comic. "The script is loyal to the character of Jane and the feel of her, but the situation in which she gets her powers is a tiny bit different," he said. "When I finished reading the script, I was very pleased with the job the writers on the project had done, and relieved that the heart and soul of the original character Joe Quesada and I created was still all there.
