International cooperation of the Statistical Office in Lublin

Statistical Office in Lublin has been cooperating with statistical offices in Volyn and L’viv regions in and in , which border Lublin voivodship, for many years. The Statistical Office participates in cross-border cooperation in the scope of statistics, in particular in organising common statistical surveys and launching publications about the .

The main aims of the international cooperation in the Statistical Office in Lublin are:

● satisfying the need for detailed and current information and versatile analyses of the processes occurring in the Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian borderland;

● supporting the development of cross-border cooperation in the Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian borderland by providing information. International cooperation of the Statistical Office in Lublin is realised by:

● exchanging the experiences in methodology of statistical survey;

● exchanging statistical data;

● conducting common surveys and socio-economic analyses, in particular with the Euroregion BUG;

● launching publications, which present statistical comparison of border regions;

● creating cross-border data base, which functions on the basis of data contained in the statistics of particular countries;

● elaborating the strategic documents in the scope of cross-border cooperation in the Polish-Ukrainian- Belarusian borderland. During the XVI Meeting of Council Presidency of the Cross-Border Association Euroregion BUG of 12 to 13 June 2013, which was devoted to the cooperation of the units of public statistics with the authorities of Euroregion BUG in the scope of information support, participants appointed the Group consisting of representatives of Statistical Office in Lublin, Main Statistical Office in Volyn region, Main Statistical Office in L’viv region and Central Statistical Office in Brest region, which is responsible for distributing information, creating data bases and monitoring the situation in the Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian borderland.

As the need of information about the Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian borderland and Polish-Ukrainian borderland is growing, the Statistical Office in Lublin in cooperation with Regional Statistical Offices in Brest, L’viv and has launched, inter alia, the following publications:
